Life guard 6 , which you can get in single 1L bottles or febi who bottle it for Audi sell it in 1l 5l and 20l drums . You can get a gearbox service kit for. About £150 from Euro car parts inc new sump that is the filter and 7L of oil as you should retain just over 3 in the valve bodies and torque converter .

As Sid mentioned, ZF Lifeguard 6 or equivalent but *not* Lifeguard 8 according to the official list from ZF for our 6HP26A61 gearbox - https://www.zf.com/global/media/en_zf/l ... -ML_11.pdf

yeah the kit from euro car parts is listen on euros system under transmission filter and its not shown as a kit but it in fact is, feb works out cheapest , i got them to i think £90 +vat for 20l drum which would allow almost 3 drain downs or not quite 2 flushes if you work on 12l per flush , just if you planning on long term ownership might save a fair few pounds,

all parts list on euros website but substantial discounts should be had if you go in store and ask for the best price. I'm sure the kit is normally £300 online with 15% off online at the moment its £254.99 .but i know it can be had in store for £155+ vat, if you ask very nicely and i usually find that saying the dealers are cheaper makes them come down a lot.

Can that be used?

I was always told nothing but LifeGuard 6 or the box will eat itself? i think im gonna do a drain/filter change as mine was fully replaced around 6k ago so my theory is if i do a filter and flush with my oil and filter changes i wont really need to spend the fortune getting it done fully, spreads the cost out so to speak!

Or is that a bad idea?

Tom the febi is life guard 6 fluid in a febi bottle , febi bottle up most genuine gear fluids for vw Audi and also sell it after market in a febi bottle. The part numbers Cross reference between the Audi number and the febi number

Do you know if they still do these kits? I can't seem to find them on their site.

It's not actually listed as a kit , it's listed as a transmission filter. It's the zf brand one , is the right one comes with 7L but won't say it does on the system I ordered one to branch to check.

I think there's something wrong with the site at the moment, as soon as I go to 'other filters' it redirects me back to the home page

I couldn't find it either, you need to go down to your local branch. I ended up getting it for £180 there under a trade account
