Extended Warranty or Remap

Post by Reflex » Wed Aug 03, 2016 4:11 pm

I've just had the annual renewal notice for the Audi Approved Warranty on my car and it's about £650. The car is will be six years old in December but has only done 20,000 miles so I'm debating whether the warranty is a good idea (I've never claimed on it so far).

The other option is to take it down to QST (they're about half a mile from my house) and have it remapped to ca 700HP.

Grateful for your thoughts...

Warranty and a remap, there is no way Audi can flag it unless you had it done by a cowboy who will flash your ecu rather than remap it.

Wow thats a low mileage, congrats!

I'd get someone to look at the coolant pipes and oil pump seal as these seem to be age related failures and quite a few cars are starting to see issues there.

If they look good then I'd consider the re-map (MRC is my own personal preference). However, if they look like they'll become an issue soon then I'd get the warranty just to cover the work required to fix both issues (probably £2.5K+).

I live near qst of you want to go out in a mapped c6 before you commit?

I had a mtm/qst map originally but swapped to Mrc and mihnea changed the map completely and was much more drivable
