Hi all, I was checking this Tunbridge Wells Audi Dealer car out for a forum member and the car has some major issues to be aware of -

http://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/used-ca ... c=se_na_re_

Well the pics look good so what's wrong? Well it's quite a list to be fair considering it's a 44K mile car -

Oil Pump Leak (engine out to fix)
Every panel except the roof needs a re-spray for horrendous hedgerow & dog scratch marks (see Cosmetics)
All 4 alloys need re-furb
Mis-matched tyres (Pirelli Front, Michelin rear) and both rears have sidewall damage
Owner had a dog or 20 and the car is *full* of dog hair/smell
Both side Upper Arms worn badly
Every fluid overfilled by 50% minimum (engine oil was almost off the dipstick)
Leather Interior well worn (much more than 44K would suggest).

Cosmetics - I'm not exaggerating, *every* panel except the roof was badly scratched, damaged, dented or scored etc and need a respray. As the car is black all the white lines in the pics look like reflections, they're not, they're scratches down to the undercoat! The previous owner lived down country lanes and the left side from headlight to rear bumper looked like a bear had scratched down the entire length with 10+ thick white lines that caught your nail so not polishable. The bottom/right side of the front bumper just infront of the alloy was damaged (looks like a reflection in the pic, it's not it's a 10in white line cut into the bumper). The right rear has been crashed into a wall/car etc at low speed, the right side doors are both heavily scratched and the rear bumper has dozens of cuts down to the plastic from the owners dogs jumping in etc. I've not seen such a badly abused RS6 in my life!

Anyway, after I did a walk around I told the dealer (Chris - nice fellow, not mechanically minded) about all the faults and that I wasn't interested. He was nice to chat to and, once we'd "bonded" over 90's Jap cars we'd both owned (and my RS6), he told me they'd taken it in as a P/X on a C7 RS6 that week at £26k and had only done a mechanical inspection that morning. I saw the report and it had everything I found plus a few that I hadn't and he said he wasn't sure whether the car was financially viable to sell through their dealer network considering the amount of work required to put it right and that instead it may get auctioned off.

So if you see it up for sale at a non-Audi garage anytime soon and are interested by the low mileage, beware of the oil leak!!!!

Yeap, it's not "beware of Audi" as they've done a good job picking up all the faults but more of a "if it costs too much it'll get auctioned instead" warning to anyone who see's it at a later date.

I assume a local owner with a few pounds to spend. Could be a good buy if you get it at the right price. Clearly an owner who just had it as a car and not overly bothered about looking after it.
Get it cheap get it wrapped fix the leak happy days
