So the time has come...

Post by Shinobi675 » Sat Jun 04, 2016 10:06 pm

Hi Guys,

So I've come to the conclusion that I need to move on from the RS6. Loved the car! Even though it doesn't handle as well as I'd have liked, I love the whole subtle wolf of it all. I think my funniest time was a bloke in a seat leon Cupra R. Single track road by BoxHill, slow car infront of me, nowhere to go and he's 6 inches from my tail. The road went to dual carriage way, so I let him go past, then sat behind him as he tried to shoot off until I could see a nice roundabout, floored it past him, hit the roundabout, went round twice so he could go past, then came up behind him, went past again and that was that, he wasn't ever seen again. I genuinely felt like I was 17 with my Astra 1.6, but I think now I'm actually a little bit more controlled... honest...

Here's my sales thread if anyone's interested... viewtopic.php?f=63&t=120526.

So I'm thinking (I know you're going to shout at me!) that I fancy another M3, been a while since I've had one and I'm intrigued with the E92 V8, bit of a different beast, I love the look of the new M4 but it's probably pushing it.

I'm really looking forward to the B9 coming out and when it is, I'm going to be all over it for a test drive... However much I love the C6, I really should have gone for the B8. And I might still to be honest.

This forum is a great place, lots of great people on here with some seriously great knowledge and big ideas, which is what it's all about! Even you bam_bam are actually nice to people deep down! :big blink: I've seen it on a number of occasions you know...

If I do end up with a Devil's M3... am I still allowed to hang around here?

Cheers

Alex

E92 M3 is a great choice. One of the only very high revving, race derived V8 engines ever produced, and last of the V8 M3s. Lovely chassis, perfect balance, great direct steering and lots of feel - practical to boot. The noise is pure race car with an exhaust, and is to die for. Im looking for one to replace my GTR and sit alongside my C6. Try and get a Comp pack one if you can. :beerchug:

Very sad to have lost you to BMW, I started off with BMW and converted to AUDI, but each to their own. Good luck with your endeavours. :)

I'm the other way round-came from BMW into the RS6 as I have lusted after them for decades. Am not disappointed at all, however the M3 will handle like the RS6 can only dream about! If it could catch the RS6 of course.....

Ha ha these are all valid points :) I was at Bmw this morning to ask about e92's and ended up trying to finance a new m4! Was amazing! But at the end I was so close but not close enough...

I've basically gone Audi, Porsche, Bmw, Audi and now probably Bmw... Though the Porsche has stayed throughout :)

The b9 does sound like a good one! If I do manage to sort an m4 at the right price, then will probably keep that for a fair while, but an e92 might just be the stop gap for the b9.

I'll still be popping in though. If only to remind mike and Ross that I'm it actually dead to them! :)

Genuinely guys, gutted to see the back of my c6. Lots of love and care with her but basically we never got on as well as we should. Like a beat mate that you still argue with in good spirits!

Maybe an rs4 b8 (hey Ross) will sort that out or the m3....

Have you looked at Alpinas? Much more exclusive and more torquey than An M product. However if a more focussed car is what you're after then M is the way to go..

try a 335d,i really miss my old one, actually want to sell my RS6 and get another,i find it was more of a drivers car, pummelled E90 M3's in a line and matched in corners ,i did have coilovers and a few other choice chassis mods ,was running 350 bhp but with 600 ft torque ,actually not a bad soundtrack for a derv too

My wife's got the 330d and it's very good. Suspension is a bit on the harsh side and the run flat tyres are horrible, just snap at the edge of grip. But... Great feeling car! A few big turbos would definitely sort that car out ;)

Some how she's now after an s3 convertible!

Somebody told her earlier today the power and ride is equivalent to a 325i beemer... I've told her not to listen to idiots :)

I do like the 335d's but i dont think i could part with my RS6 for one, you got a stage 2 map on there yet? the 335 really isnt anywhere near as special as the RS, inside isnt too great either.
But i do agree its more of a drivers car.
Go stage 2 and get it around a track with the traction turned off you'll enjoy the RS and it'll reward you with some sideways action too!

LOL

few weeks back I came across a 335d, was a classic traffic light drag strip and it was defo mapped and I must admit up to around 40mph he held his own before the old girl woke up and walked off into the sunset :)

obviously straight line speed even a 335d with hybrids won't get near an RS6 but it's not all about that , I push the RS6 hard on track and the weight is just such a big factor you can't ignore it , and personally I prefer the interior of the 335d (just my opinion of corse ) , keep looking at getting an M3 so I would have a proper gearbox , a nice soundtrack and a more aggressive pose but the 335d is in many ways a better car than the M3 and with just a simple remap will match one for pace , I do love my RS6 but there are many things I don't love about it , the RS tax on 99% of perishable items and tuning items also gets boring quickly , over £1k for a stage 2 remap is just hideous in my opinion that's why I have not gone for the stage 2
