Black wrap on chrome-opinions please!

I'm going to get the car into a wrapping centre to get all the chrome parts (apart from the wing mirrors of course!) wrapped plus the alloys powder coated in titanium. The 'stealth' look on these cars that have seen about looks great and enhances the look I think. Anyhow-few questions as am undecided!

1. Gloss or matt wrap? Am thinking gloss as its in keeping with the paint and the grille is gloss as well.

2. Audi rings-black or leave as original? Matt or gloss? These will have to be painted am told.

All in will cost me around £470.00 have found a couple of examples from the net:

Any input guys?

Hasten to add the £470.00 is for the wrap only, the alloys will be £300.00 so £770.00 all in.

I prefer the bottom one with the chrome Matt wrapped and black badges, but I also like the car being wrapped in matt/satin black too!

Yes 3M (choice of others as well) and all the chrome parts of the car-not roof as its a saloon. Herts Tints-seemed pretty good. Anyone here have any experience with them?

Ah sorry, just re-read the post, these are just the chrome panels, not the car, was thinking that's really cheap.

I had mine painted, looks superb. Much better finish than wrapping and probably a cheaper as it only took a 3 hrs

You can get the rings in black plastic too. Pretty sure I've seen them on eBay. I have a set in my boot which I'm undecided on so definitely available

Had a few friends who have used Herts Tints and all have been pleased with their work.

How easy is it to detach the rings? I may well be interested in those if it's a snap on and off job.

Mine professionally painted in satin black, wrapping won't look this good around the edges.

I like the contrast on the black with the silver. But have to admit, that Matt look is lovely!

What about just wrap the whole car in something a bit different?

Not keen to do the whole car as a) I love the colour and b) expense!

I went black gloss wrap on the front grille surround and the boot trim.

Went matte black wrap on the alloy trim around the windows.

Went carbon fibre wrap on engine panels.

All wrap trim has held up ok after three years.

Anthracite paint on the rims, but will go gloss black next rim colour change

cheers,
john
