Hello mates,

Ext Temp seems strange...
Does anyone konw where is located the ext. temps sensor ? Is it easy to change ?

How does it seem strange? the only EGT sensor i know of is located inside the pre-cat and not very easy access, in fact id assume it would be downpipe removal in order to change it which would require lowering of the subframe.

I'd always assumed that it was over reading once the engine was warm due to the sheer heat the engine puts out. The only way to get an accurate reading would be to put the sensor on a ten foot pole in front of the car

I've seen this in other cars I've had but never as bad as the C6.

The External Temp sensor (how hot is the weather) is just in front of the main Radiator and slightly to the left - http://www.partsbase.org/audi/audi-rs6- ... re-sensor/

Yes the front bumper needs to be taken off.

Has anyone had any success in improving the accuracy on a C6...?

Mine over reads by +4-5 degrees C.

New sensor fixes it... had one myself, however it is a bumper removal job to clip the new one in as any normal sized hand will just NOT fit up enough to get it in and connected.
