C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
Has anyone had any issues with this kit catching the prop or squeaking when the car is fully loaded after fitting?
I am presuming there is no adjustment needed and these should just be a straight bolt on job?

Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
Can anyone explain how to make the rear ARB fit when the bush is 3mm bigger, or is it a straight fit and the fiddly part is getting to it under the exhaust?

Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
I had some driveshaft scoring from the rear ARB when on the inner setting, switching to the outer setting has solved it but since its only rear near side of the car I would assume its my suspension geometry thats worn

Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
Plans are well underway to install my new H&R ARB's this coming weekend.
- Has anyone got any good manuals or How to guides to help out with the procedure?
- and is it worth assuming that both front and rear should be easy to moderate DIY jobs that does not require fiddling with shocks or DRC ?
thanks

Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
No shocks, no DRC.
Front is dead easy - 8 nuts and 4 bolts unless you're not changing the C links, in which case it's 6 nuts and 2 bolts.
Rear is slightly more awkward because you have to fiddle the bars around the exhaust to get them out and in. Getting the upper bolts for the bush clamps in without crossing them can be a pain though - helps to have a mate who's happy to take the weight of the bar while you fit them.
The real kicker is that you shouldn't really torque the fittings until the weight of the car is on the suspension which requires some ingenuity unless you've got a lift or a pit.

Cheers Jim.
Re fitment, should i opt for inner or the outer hole (e.g. one closer to the edge)?

Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
I'd be inclined to start on the outers and then move to inners if you want it stiffer. You might have some clearance issues on the rear using the inners but IMO that depends on the loads you carry and/or the condition of the rear springs.

Proviso: The above applies if using OE C links. If yours have polybushes I don't think it matters.Jim Haseltine wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:35 pmThe real kicker is that you shouldn't really torque the fittings until the weight of the car is on the suspension which requires some ingenuity unless you've got a lift or a pit.
Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
Got it, it's on OEM suspension and pretty much stock all around (bar where it matters, e.g. under the hood ).
Thanks again and will let you know how it goes.

Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
And my advice would be to start on the rear because it's the worse of them. Depending on the state of things under the car it can take hours just to remove the bar - the top bolt of the righthand bracket is especially awkward to get to and it's in just the right place to catch a lot of salt and other stuff. Once you've done the rear, the front is a breeze.
Re: C6 upgraded ARB - Is this the right part number
I used local garage to fit new H&R ARBs... and the difference is simply amazing.
Handling / stability is way better and the car feels much stiffer on all three suspension settings. Couldn't be pleased more and i would recommend anyone on this forum (who hadn't done so) to engage on such activity. One of my top two mods on C6's.
