Basic Servicing Procedures for the C6 RS6

Hi all,

I've created a bunch of basic servicing procedures (or workshop guides) from the Audi Techs manual. I'll add a few more to this thread as I create them (spark plugs etc).

They're all in PDF form and *only* the procedures are included, there are no part numbers included for the bits that need replacing. This is to prevent people buying the wrong parts if the part number changes in future.

For Part Numbers I'd use ETKA Online (free) but there are other websites out there.

Thanks for that Ian!

Which oil is recommended? Brand and spec?

I always used Shell Helix in my B5 and everyone that heard it said it was on of the nicest sounding 2.7 engines they'd heard. Thinking of using the same in the C6

Glad to help!

My Website - Someone with less morals than myself suggested removing the "Identity confusion" text and instead putting a "9/11 find the truth" donation link on the page just to see if I could make a bit of cash from those looking for my namesake.

I even got an e-mail last month sent to my admin account from the tour company he used in '09 whilst he was promoting his book asking I was thinking about touring again. I was so tempted to sign up for a 1 man show :D

Do you have to use an extractor to remove the old oil?

The extractor is used to suck out the reamining in the oil can in the engine bay. Approx. 1-1,5L.

Later RS6's also have a drain plug for the chaindrive at the rear of the engine, additional 1,5L of oil can be drained here.

Great pdf's! Thanks! :)

Can you change the oil without an extractor. Remove the drainplugs, drain the oil and refill? Just want to do an interim oil change between services. I've always changed my oil every six months.

Yes, you can, but you will be leaving 1L of oil that you could have changed out by buying a really cheap, manually suction pump ;)

I'll buy a little pump, just a bit wary of sticking any thing in the sump! Its only an interim oil change, the car will be going to Unit20 in May or August for a service anyway. Just like to do the oil every 2-3k miles
