I have recently brought a 2009 Sepang avant 56k which did have audi warranty remaining but unfortunately wasnt transferable but I am interested in purchasing one.

There are obviously a lot of warranties out there with some claiming to cover wear and tear.

Audi offer a warranty which is £1535 pa for all parts but still has some wear and tear exclusion or £1095 for named parts which seems to cover a hell of a lot anyway. I've tried my local dealer to purchase but it seems it is just a third party thing you buy online with Audi in the name.

Does anyone have experience of claiming on these?

I really don't know which direction to go in.

I'm not fixed on an Audi warranty but I feel it may help when I take it to an Audi dealer.

The Audi warranty is the most comprehensive of all warranties nothing else comes close.

Thats correct, its worth the money... however any modifcations i.e remap etc the whole warranty is void, the only thing your allowed to do is fit a cat back exhuast.
So keep that in mind if you wish to make the car more your own then avoid the warranty.

Sensible dealers will put through claims on modified cars if the modification is not the cause of the problem.

Did you try to transfer it? When I bought mine from Andy, there is a page in the back of the warranty book for transferring. They were very helpful and got it changed straight away.
Just had to renew it and it was £840 for the year which isnt bad as there was a claim for a replacement injector this year too. So actually gone down in cost.

I wouldnt run an RS6 without one.

I spoke to someone who works at Audi who told me they wouldnt touch a car that was mapped, i.e if anything engine/box wise went then it wouldnt be covered.

So that really leave only interior parts which i couldnt justify paying such an expense to have just that covered.


If people who have Audi warranty with modified cars could tell me which dealers they use and what work they have had carried out whilst under warranty then i'd reconsider as my warranty ran out 6 months ago and i didnt renew it due to this information being given to me at the time.

If it was a genuine Audi warranty then it WILL be transferable. And they'll ask for a mere £17.50 to do so. Ring Audi warranty helpline and ask - they'll need the registration and chassis number

& just don't tell them you bought it from a dealer as that voids it

Which dealers do warranty work even though car's remapped

I had a similar dilemma. When I bought mine I transferred the warranty . I think I got my monies worth !!! However on renewal I looked at best part of £1600 which at the time just seemed too much. My main concern was the known oil seal engine out job. This can now be done without removing engine so much more affordable. I also found it a pain when trying to claim as that wear and tear thing kept being quoted. I'm sure it will come back to bite me in the backside !!!!

Before 2nd April 2015 warranties weren't transferable but after that they are.
No issue as seller got refunded the balance of the warranty and gave to me.
I hair have to decide which to go for

£840 seems cheap to me. If you go online they are quoting £1535 pa and that is with £250 excess.
Named parts cover is just over £1000 again with £250 excess
It's over £2k for 0 excess

Warranty wise keep callin me insisting they cover wear and tear but I'm not convinced

Any will if they've half a brain - they can either get paid for the work (via warranty) or you'll go elsewhere to a dealer who isn't a <beep>.

My RS6 had several things done under warranty despite being mapped - I even had a card in car I put on the dash every time it went in "No ECU upgrades/Flashes - car is remapped". Obviously you'd not take it in for an engine issue and expect warranty to cover it when mapped, but most other things should be fine. In my case a shock and a headlight bulb without issue. (Headlight bulb replacement was £600!).

Definitely go for the Audi extended warranty if you can. I am not sure if you can add it if it's already expired, but certain it can be transferred once you have cover.

Best to put the excess to the max. Recovery cover is overpriced relative to AA/RAC policies.

If you are on good terms with your dealer and the fault is not directly related to the modification, I can't see them refusing a warranty claim.
