I thought the advanced key was basically keyless entry?

it could be I was just thinking out loud that maybe it controlled other convenience options on the car

Nope. And that hasn't changed with later models. Fold on lock is an option in MMI regardless of key type.

The advanced key is keyless lets you open and shut the doors without using the key, you place you hand under the door handle it unlocks, you press the button on any of the doors it locks the car.
It has keyless start/stop buttons...

Also i think it remembers positions of seat on advanced key so if you have a few fobs it'll move the seat to that positon once it detects the unlock. (i think anyway might work on all keys)

So how do we enable it? program it in vcds or is it something you cant do?

The other annoying thing is you have to have the engine running or ignition on to fold the mirrors. So when you're in a rush like I am every day I shoot into the station car park, park, then fold mirrors, wait for them to start folding and then turn the engine off. Any other car I have had you can fold them with the engine off, or they auto fold.

I want a C7 but I think I'm going to have to come up with a better justification to the missus other than auto folding mirrors!

So following your logic, as your hair is heading the same way as Duncan Goodhew’s your wife won’t mind you rocking a new pair of Speedo’s on your next holiday! :bigwave:

They also won't fold if you're driving which, as I live down some very narrow country lanes, is a pain when passing other cars at 5mph with us both in a hedge and that extra 6in can make a big difference, if you know what i mean :D

You can always use a module like this for auto fold mirrors ;)
