interested to know what everyone is getting mpg wise from there cars as daily drivers. I'm thinking of doing this and I do a daily commute of 40miles motorway and the rest inner-city consisting of another 12 miles taking the daily commute to 52.

Yeap, I do 40 miles a day (200 a week) - 20 Motorway, 14 A-road and 6 B-road - so pretty much use 4/5ths of a tank of fuel (250 miles max) mon-fri averaging 18-22mpg depending on traffic and the occasional lead-foot moment.

I run mine as a daily commuter, around 50 miles a day. Mostly motorway bookended with a bit of A-roads.

I don't drive it with a lead foot for most of the journey (wouldn't be able to due to the traffic), with the odd burst when I take an A-road detour and I have a long term average of 18.2 mpg (only know the exact as by conincidence I checked the computer this morning).

Computer steadfastly predicts I will get 340 miles out of a tank, but I consistently get around 260-280 at best.

When my propshaft bearing failed I had to drive at less than 2000rpm for a few weeks until it could be fixed and my Trip Computer said my range went upto 410 miles and even then I still couldn't get more than about 320 miles - the trip computer is a lying SOB!

thanks guys, very useful info indeed! I think I may keep my current car as a run around and then I do have to drive like miss daisy on the days I do take it to work. :)

18 ish sounds pretty standard then. If you really try then you get 20 or just over.

Sounds like a lot of miles at that sort of MPG. I use mine daily but my office is 4 miles from home. :jump_clap:

In the last year, average speed 33mph, average 17mpg. Not that lead footed and probably 60% motorway distances.

This is good as it must mean a B7 Rs4 is 300+ per tank

I'm doing between 150 and 250 miles a week in mine, mostly A roads, but some B roads and dual carriageway mixed in. My average is 18.4mpg over 5000+ miles, with the best being 23.4 on a gently run to Wales in July on the M4.

Cheers

Steve

I turn all that stuff off. If you're concerned about fuel don't buy a 5ltr v10 twin turbo monster

I didn't say I was concerned I was trying to gauge what real world mpg driving figures are.

Just looked at my average over the 11000 miles I've done since buying and it's bang on 17.5mpg which includes track days, motorways, general commuting/driving and hoons around Kent etc
