hi guys new to the forum picked up my rs6 last month and it need some new stoppers shortly !

i am wondering if it is possible to upgrade the discs on my car to the c7 wavy once as i am lead to believe they are the same size are they not ?

if not i know i have just seen a thread below that pagid should do items for our cars but they longer make them ! and am struggling to find stock anywhere !

also what peoples oil consumption like ? and also when my light in the car comes on how much oil should i put it i know with other bags its usually between .5 and 1l but it says don't fill on the dipstick so i didn't know if thats the max level or thats acceptable and no more is required

and finally has anyone has an engine mount fitted or done it them self as mine has come up on Vagcom

cheers in advance guys !

Brakes - I don't know if the C7 discs have the same offset as the C6 discs but for the same price as a set of C6 Front Discs direct from Audi (£800) you could buy a set AP Racing Discs instead. As well as being better discs they also work out cheaper in the long run because they are 2 piece (£300 Disc and £100 Hat) so when you need to replace them they will be £100 a side cheaper as you only replace the £300 disc.

Oil - If your dipstick says full when you are parked on level ground then you have a faulty sensor, which is fairly common on C6's. My consumption (with a slight leak) is about 1L every 2500 miles with fairly hard use.

its not at the top which i assumes is the line one the dipstick in the middle between fill and don't fill ? , i guess the sensor is on the bottom of the dry sump ? and needs to be empty to replace i take it ? may do that when i get the oil changed , although it no codes on VCDS show regarding it , it does have sporadic oil temp which would explain faulty sensor ,

so you have any part numbers for the ap setup and where is bet to buy from ? i take it they will be sided also

i can get them reasonably priced for over in the check republic due to the weak euro for the standard items just struggling to get the spec offset wise on the c7 items !

The discs are £294.80 each and the bells are £99.70 each both prices include VAT.

You need these part numbers -

2x CP8080Z240 - Bells
1x CP8080Z24CG12 - Right Disc
1x CP8080Z25CG12 - Left Disc

The bells need fitting to the discs (all parts supplied) and you need a 6NM Torque wrench & an E12 Star Socket (maybe E10) but its very simple and only takes about 15 minutes per disc.
Hope that helps.

I had an engine mount replaced at MRC a few months ago, I can't remember the exact cost but call them and they will quote you. I think the Audi book time was 4 hours work which is what they quoted me, they had it done in 2 hours and charged me for 2 hours so I was a happy bunny!

Oh, and FON :assflash:

You also save quite a few kilos of unsprung weight with the APs compared to the OEM discs.

cheers r33 , just wanted to know as a guide i guess its a drop the subframe and fiddle kind of job and install , done them on the old b5 rs4 which was fairly easy , mrc are just a bit far away from me as I'm up in the lake district and knowing my right foot would cost a lot in fuel !
my local independent vag guy aint an rs specialist but he's knows his stuff and only uses genuine parts proper old school mechanic

Hi RS_Sid, :bigwave:

The AP brake set up has good reviews.

I run the mtm - performance friction 405 mm front rotors

http://www.mtm-online.de/en/Audi/RS6-C6 ... s6bre405vk

not cheap , but great stopping power from 315 km/hr (196 mph) and numerous air strip 0-1000 metre runs to 260km/h (161 mph)
Easy install.

cheers,
john

are they just a larger rotor or do you need a spacer for the calliper as well ?

Hi rs6_sid, :bigwave:

Of course you can't beat the ceramics, but much more expensive and can have costly maintenance.

With regards to the MTM kit, yes you do need spacers. Provided in the kit as per attached images.

Easy install by my local indie Audi service centre.

john
