Weight reduction - C6 RS6

Post by ahmed_RS6 V10 » Tue Dec 02, 2014 6:05 am

Hello guys,

As we all know what is the big disadvantage in the RS6, despite how much powerful is the beast but that too much weight that it carries is a very big factor when it comes to compete or compare with the other cars.

If only the RS6 was 100-200 KG less, its going to be a disaster in terms of performance to the super cars around the world(which already is), it would be an unbeatable beautiful beast.

However guys, if anyone has any idea or has already done some weight reduction please write it down.

Hahaha, funny one but in fact I do all of what you have mentioned plus I weight only 68 kg.

Then you're set! :) Assume you don't have a spare tyre.
Depending on how serious you are the back seats could be removed.

Are they easy to be removed?

How much weight do you think will they reduce??

You will have about 150kg in seats alone especially the fronts so depending on how serious you are? Rip the fronts out and fit some nice carbon jobbies in, door panels, rear seats, carpets, sound proofing, spare, ice, you can do it but depends on what you want to be left with?

Fit carbon buckets

That's prob 100kg

If you are serious about stripping some weight off the RS6 just so that you can blast down the 1/4 mile strip faster then IMO, you should sell it and buy something else.
Too much power is barely enough.

I already have the bucket seats but not in carbon fiber.

I cant let go of this beast, its just an idea if there is a way. just the overweight that kills the performance of this car.

its not a problem though, I can live with it

Ahmed, interestingly, who tuned your car in terms of mechanical work and the mapping?.

Love to see a photo of it if you have one.
