9XX build thread

Post by C6NVS » Wed Sep 03, 2014 11:55 am

Since purchasing my first C6 RS6 in 2010 as a replacement of the previous C5, I've always been astonished at how capable the C6 really is, yet always wanted to push the envelop and unleash it's true potential, pushing the boundaries of what is possibly with this mighty V10TT.

My first car was stock, and I proceeded down the stage 2+ route very quickly, but the progress was halted by a need to release some cash for a property purchase, and hence I reluctantly sold the car (it is still a forum car).

But after a short few months following the house purchase, I just could not help myself but get back into another C6, and the plan from the day I got this car was to go all the way with it's development, and turn it into a truly exhilarating machine.

So, after what has been more than 18 months of research, and a LOT of helps from friends (you know who you are :bigblink: ), my car went off two weeks ago to the exhaust engineer in what is the first stage of development.

Anyway, enough fluffing, I'm going to update this as I progress.

Photos from this morning,

3" catless downpipes fabricated (I had the option of polished, but didn't bother):

Then mission impossible!! Didn't want to have the engine dropped just yet, so I posed the question (demanded) and with some creative problem solving and engineering expertise....

Installed, engine in:

Wow nice, those are some very serious downpipes. I really look forward to seeing your progress, and I look forward to your battle with Classba to see who can extract the most safe BHP/Torque in a usable package.

Did I mention a little help from friends :bigblink: !! Classba has been involved all the way, and his build is the first proof of what can be done. Mine will be the sequel.

Looking forward to the specs on these hybrid snails then, sounds like a real development in the C6 world!

Car back today and a few pleasant surprises. I've been quite specific on what I wanted done, and was not expecting it to be possible and on time. Will update as soon as I can get some time for photos and maybe even a quick vid.
