Anyone had trouble with the key running out of juice ? Should it not charge off the ignition ?
Mine is a nightmare, only works when you are literally touching the door - makes the keyless entry a waste of time !
Having to manually lock now as worried I wont be able to open next time !!!
Is it a dealer job ?

Replacing the battery can be done yourself (at least for the normal metal key anyway)... very easy to pop it apart and stick a new one in
I doubt it is anything different for the keyless entry key

Just looking at it now, is there a knack to getting it apart (without making a mess of the casing!)

I've got keyless - no different to non-keyless. Just use a table knife or another key to pop the back off the fob - there is a space to help crank it open at the base of the key where the loop to attach the fob to a key ring.
Two second job! Just need to find a 2032 battery (if memory serves), as one of my keys went last weekend and took four different shops to find one.
