Do you do it daily?

Post by McF » Mon Jun 09, 2014 8:30 am

Drive your 6?

When I get my 6, it will be used as a daily. Mainly runs into the city on A/ B roads plus the fortnightly blast to Birmingham.

Currently running a Merc c250 Cdi AMG sport which, although looks nice, fails to awaken me on the morning commute like the C63 did. However, the C63 has become a regular car around here thanks to the fantastic lease deals MB gave away. Have had VAGs in the past, Audi 2.3 coupe, Mk2 GTI's,VR6, TT etc and have always hankered after a C6.

Now is the time to make the move.

So how many use theirs as a daily?

Nope, have a diesel company car, I'd love to use it daily, though, as it isn't really a weekend car. Then again, I had to pop in to work today, and took the RS 6, and I am confident I wouldn't have a license very long if it was my daily.

Like Sixspeed, though, I will be putting 1300 odd miles over it this weekend, going to Le Mans and Paris, which is more than it's done over the last 4/5 months iirc. :D

C7 ?? Well yes but far too much money may be in a few years time. I can't see the point of having a C6 sat in the garage and driving a piece of <beep> to get to work. I never just "Go out for a drive" so any pleasure is doing a journey I need to do and I enjoy every journey in the C6

Unless you live in a Scotland or Wales, you cannot enjoy driving in the UK anymore without fear of points, fines, tickets, supermarket dents, road rage, road envy

I think you can just be careful where you go. Supermarkets!!!! It doesn't seem to matter where you park, totally empty car park and some cock will always park next to you. Road rage ? Nothing gets close so not a problem. Road envy ? Well I'm not sure most people even know what a C6 is.

Daily for me .. although I do work from home, which is 1/2 way between Newbury and Basingstoke ..

So its 1.2 miles to the super market / subway for a sarney most lunch times (which becomes a 5 to 10 mile detour most days)
Its into Chiswick once a week, which it hates
Up to Donington Park Circuit every fortnight, trip to Brackley pretty much every month and maybe a trip to Woking as well .. (spot the connection)

re non work at the weekend its pretty much the only car we use.. much to the annoyance of the two bikers on the lovely back road to Jody Scheckter's farm at Laverstock on Sunday :)

Ohhh and same as others .. Le Mans on Friday :biggrin3:
