Hi.

Does anyone recognise this car or know the dealer that has it?

As a newbie, any advice as to what options this hasnt got that it should would be great too.

Many thanks for the help

Me personally, I wouldn't buy a car from that neck of the woods. I do a lot of work around brum and you can understand why it gets a bad rep for car sales.
I don't know the actual dealer, but you only hear bad stories about brum. Shame, but that's the way it is.

Hi Kev .. Make this thread your friend http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=97203

As most dealers have no clue what was optional / standard I'll take the options list from the ad and delete stuff that was standard .. leaving

Soft closing doors
Rear Privacy Glass

Whilst the spec is pretty standard at least the car is standard and hasn't been pimped. It has had 1 owner from new so probably very well maintained by the type of person with enough money to buy it new. Low mileage, looks pretty good to me, especially if you can knock £3k off the price.

This one has been around for a while (at least 3-4 months). It was available when I was looking for mine, so you may be able to get something knocked if he needs to shift it as it hasn't had a price drop.

The advantage of the saloons is that they all have the 3G MMI, whereas the vast majority of Avants have the 2G High even if they were sold after the upgrade was introduced (due to clearing old stock). Basically means you have full postcode entry, can play music from an SD card. Differences in the MMI's can be found here:

You also have the Advanced Key option on there. This means that if the key is in your pocket, you can open the doors without clicking the key and can start the engine. Once you have had this, there is no turning back!

3G MMI does not do full postcode ? I have 3G in my Avant and it does like RGXX X

I looked again at the advert and did not see Advanced Key listed in the options only saw "Remote Central Locking" .. maybe Lukas has looked at the car in real-life and the dealer simply did not list it in the features on the web advert

Apologies, stuck with the 2G myself, I was always under the impression that the 3G had full post code entry.

You can see the keyless start buttons on one or two of the interior photos, although the photo quality is pretty bad, photo 14 shows it up best. On the 3G it is a little round silver one for start and square black on for stop to the right of the gearstick just above the handbrake.

Never went to look at myself, but it was on my list of potentials. Finally decided that the Avant suited me better due to it's ability to swallow up more in the boot.
