Moving Number plate

I've seen someone's car on here with the number plate moved to the bottom of the grille. Haven't looked at it but does a full size number plate fit low down? And is it just a case of relocating?

Me and Golf and others... 3 x 6 " is too small m8.

I've now moved the small plate back up stairs but without the plate holder.

Also, if you have the stock OEM front splitter ( I have the Carbon MTM), the plate will be sitting right on the edge.

I have a 3 digit number plate and I got stoped by the police my plate was 300mm x 88mm with full size letters on it they told me it has to be 111mm in height so. There is a border so the camera can read it so I'm having a custom plate holder made out off carbon fibre and my new plate will be 280mm x 111mm hopefully that will keep them off my back

I've been stopped before but not for the number plate and they never said anything about it even though they were looking at it to check with their base. Also, the congestion charge cameras have no problem picking it up and that was when I had it on the bottom.

Mine is standard 7 letter plate. I could get rid of the holder and have a slightly smaller plate but not sure the smallest legal size I could get away with?

At the moment I use the OEM front plate holder on a shortened plate.

I removed the OEM holder cut a couple of inches from middle and plaggy welded it back together, smoothed of joint..re sprayed gloss black.....still uses original securing lugs too.

I've done away with the holder and just drilled 2 holes on the number plate where the holder holes were and used normal number plate screws with caps. For your reference the distance for the 2 holes is 10 inches.
