Folks, the TPMS alarm goes off after a few miles of driving. Ive checked tyre pressures and all ok.

Anything else to check? Do these tend to have faults with them as I know these systems can be tempremental.

Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

Reset it from the MMI and if it does it again then for sure the TPMS units at fault.

Mine did this a little while back now so I reset them from the MMI as suggested by classba and it's worked fine ever since :beerchug:

Same here

I think as they get older they do play up a little!

Re set, check pressures and all is well.

I sometimes go across a bumpy farm track, everytime it's set the TPMS off showing low pressure, when checked tyres are ok?
Must be something g to do with air in tyre getting"squashed" and sending sensor haywire!!!

Batteries run out eventually and you have to replace.

The average life span of the TPMS batteries is seven years if I've remembered correctly.

Before resetting the TPMS from the MMI, make sure you have all the tyres pumped up to the correct value. I've found that the MMI shows between 1-2 PSI less from what the actual tyre pressure value really is so make sure that you clear the old value and lock in the new.

Is there a way to check individual TPMS sensors in wheels ??

So if I had a set of four and the tyres were pumped up correctly but the alarm went off, proving there was a likely sensor error, how would I establish whether it was one or more and which were at fault ?

I have two sets of RS4 wheels now as well as some spare sensors so I am hoping I can make a full set and maybe even have a spare TPMS sensor that all definitely work.

I have tried a search but it tends to bring loads of "My TPMS has gone off, what should I do" type threads up.

Cheers.
