Possible new owner
Re: Possible new owner
Milleage is crazy low and if it was closer to me I would be going to see it. I like the de-badged look but I'm not a fan of the cream leather and as you say the spec is very much as they come out of the showroom, almost no extras. Still, very clean and low mileage will serve the resale value well.

Re: Possible new owner
Hi any - not sure if they ever called you back but I was passing tonbridge Audi today and decided to kill some time... Anyway the rs6 you are looking at is on the forecourt marked up at £35,987 not £39,987.... So not sure if the Internet is correct....
Re: Possible new owner
They did but I will get onto that in a bit
Not sure what they are playing at on the price tbh. It dropped to £35K on the web Sunday but then went back to £39K Monday! So very interesting that they have it still at £35 on the forecourt! Seems a bit left hand right hand not knowing what they are doing.....
As I say, the sales guy did phone me back this afternoon, after I left two messages yesterday for him to call me Monday. So bearing in mind that when I was in there Friday I told him my monthly budget and I was keen to understand the figures he could put together for me, come Tuesday all he could do was ask me about my current finance termination status. Obviously I told him the situation to which he responded that he would go off and talk to his business manager about putting some numbers together! I thought that was what they had spent the last 4 days doing, ffs.
I do wonder what the role of a sales guy is nowadays, it seems just to talk to people and take the for test drives as they can't formulate a sales offer without talking to someone in the background. I also mention the price drop and said that was the price range I wanted to talk about as the £40K was over market for the colour and mileage and I referenced the low mileage model above. Didn't really put up an argument so I assume that was positive? Guess its down to his business manager??
Mentioned earlier in this thread but they don't seem particularly responsive as a sales team or that keen to shift what I assume is a problem car in their stock. Making me think a little harder about this car now, only really from the mileage point of view though. 3-4 years ownership is going to put it at 80k+ and probably hard to shift whereas if I find a low mileage model it will still be desirable? Am I over thinking this?

True, it's finding one with a car I want with a price I'm willing to pay though. Guess that's always the problemD_K wrote:Find a better dealer

Re: Possible new owner
Looks like my dreams have been dashed by finance on this one
Price agreed at the £35K mark but due to the age I'm unable to do a PCP package. That leaves HP to finance the total car cost minus the deposit which is just too rich for my blood currently especially as the running costs are considerably higher for this beast. Bit of a bugger as I can buy a new A6 3.0TDI for the same price which I can PCP and afford but I can't buy this
I have finally put my Ducati up for sale so if this goes anytime soon I might be able to revisit this with a more significant deposit to reduce the overal finance.
Bogger is all I can say.

Re: Possible new owner
This is looking back on again as my Ducati sale is going well
and I have several finance options back available to me again
So I have booked in a test drive for Friday afternoon
Couple more questions for you guys though. Service intervals and general costs, I'm assuming 10k is the normal interval for these cars? Above general fluids etc what are the major intervals to watch out for that will incure large bills? The car I'm looking at has 43k miles on the clock so is there a big service coming up that I can get the dealer to throw in?
Am I correct in thinking that if the car has been factory de-limited, it should have a carbon engine cover fitted? I think I've read that this is the case but some didn't come with the carbon fitted from the factory.
Is Radar assist cruise possible to fit as an option post factory? I assume yes but at huge expense? This is the one feature that I would like but is not in the car I'm looking at.

Re: Possible new owner
the radar cruise control retro fit doesnt sound easy - well, depending on how handy you are as a mechanic/electrican..

Re: Possible new owner
Proving remarkably reliable so far, servicing costs are insignificant compared to fuel and depreciation! £500 for a service is four tanks or a months depreciation.......

Re: Possible new owner
I thought the adaptive cruise would be a mission and costly to retrofit and that info has confirmed, thanks. Thought I would ask though as when I had cruise fitted to my A4 it was just the stalk that had to be fitted as the rest of the components were already in the car. Slightly different case but thought I would clarify just in case
It seems servicing is an option between regular fixed schedule at 10k miles or variable upto 20k depending on oil used. I assume I will check what the car in question has been run on up till now and follow that route.
Now looking forward to my test drive on friday
