Comparing the SP Sport Maxx GT woth the SP Sport Maxx (hope this link works)

http://www.dunlop-tires.com/dunlop_uk/I ... =passenger

Wet handling is "lower" on the GT versus the "normal" .. not sure if that makes a difference to your choice, not sure the scale of the pretty curves or what they really mean ;)

Digging around on the web the R01 and J are Vehicle manufacturer specific markings which Quote "indicate that a tyre has been fine tuned to meet the specific performance needs of a particular vehicle or range of vehicles It is important to ensure any new tyres you fit have the same markings."

RO1 is Audi (specific Audi Quattro models)
J is Jaguar

FWIW
AO is also Audi
* is BMW
MO/MB/A-MOE/MO1 is Mercedes
PE and NO/N1/N2/N3/N4/N5/N6 is Porsche
VO is VW Tourag

Thanks for digging out the extra info.

I've ordered a set of Dunlops like for like on the basis I'll have at least a couple of warn spares.

My car was delivered with the Dunlops on, so far so good, however after 2000k's through Europe no rain yet, so no full feedback available as yet.

Better still managed to get the local stealer to do them for 290 a corner fitted. For a small piece of mind I'll take the (very) small hit.

I've gone for Dunlops as fitted now. That should leave me with at least a couple of worn spares. The Pirellis were 40 quid more a corner, I didn't bother asking about Michelins given their apparent rarity at the moment.

Tyres done. I now have 3 partly worn Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GTs, 5mm or so on each. If anyone else loses a Dunlop, give me a shout.

Does no one have the Vredestein Sessantas?
Excellent grip especially in the wet.
Got them delivered through Camskill.
Got all four changed for around £650 sometime last year. Going great.

Mytyres carry the Sportmaxx GT. They had a set with me within three days - despite the fact I'd cancelled the order but that's another story!

Lots of post about tyres but no definative answers.
Pirelli or Michelin or Dunlop
I am about to change I have P Zero's that have done 13,000 miles early threads everyone seems to like the Michelins, later threads people prefer dunlops.
How many miles do you get out of Michelins?
My local Kwikfit have quoted 1050 for a set of Pirellis all and £1250 for a set of Michelins.

I was looking at going P Zero's again, got 10.5k out of them and love them but backs in particular are ready for a change pre bad weather.

£1050 sounds cheap... cheapest I've found are £1200 fitted via Blackcircles.
