Turbos - options.

Seems so..

I’m told still tuning and more to come over the next few weeks. Hearing new Intercoolers due to land and try this week so hopefully the numbers really bump up as stock coolers must be choking at this power. But I’m told still little left in the turbos right now too with stock coolers.

There’s more left in it, I think we will end up around 1050ps on 99. There’s a decent amount of headroom in the turbos, 1100+ on 109 Oct is estimated. Will have the car completed for next week, the torque curve and power delivery is looking very good. Will share more info as I get it but I’m delighted so far.

Yes mate that’s where I wanted to be, the powers coming in earlier and holding longer so I’m delighted. Boost wise I’ll ask Mrc I’m sure the map sensors on our cars only read up to 1.55 bar

Loads, done pretty much everything I can other than build the engine. Dp’s +exhaust, upgraded intercoolers, upgraded injectors, modified air boxes, sportmile gearbox. Upgraded all the suspension and have full ceramics as well. Made 1000 odd ps on the 850’s so keen to see what these new turbos do

In typical S4Player fashion, it’s an air box and it’s been modified. Does that help any ! Truth is I don’t have an answer for you. Upgraded filters and drilled out airboxes is my guess

So I decided to bite the bullet today and bought a TTE1000+ upgrade, Simon was an absolute gent to deal with and it was very difficult to pass up a 20% discount for black Friday!!!

Can't imagine there'll be anything close to that ever again.

Now to strip the car down and get everything sorted at once

I can't help wondering whether the JDEngineering tuned car (973 BHP / 1065 Nm) was held back to work with a stock gearbox?

Along with the turbos I'll be doing a gearbox upgrade, injectors, intercoolers and downpipes as I haven't got any of those.

I'm hoping Wagner tuning release their C6 cooler upgrade by the time I'm ready to go as that's the kit I would be happiest with

Thankfully MRC are able to dual map these cars as I'll probably have to get a second map for bigger power figures with fuel additives. 97 grade fuel is the best we get in NI so I imagine I'll be limited to under 1k, however I'll wait and see how it performs once it's built back up.

I'll be having the heads pulled and polished to eliminate any carbon, I know there's a slight build up as I noticed it when MRC repaired the flap that was jumping out of place in the inlet manifold runner.

….. I’m hoping the new turbos do 1050+ps on 99 and upwards of 1150 on race. I think the curve will move slightly to the right as it’s a bigger turbine wheel, I’m hoping we don’t lose too much spool as the 850’s were incredible in that sense. Will post all findings good and bad throughout next week
