The Yoko was an OEM tyre on the D3 S8 IIRC.

I understand the Michelin confusion. The PS3 has been brought out to replace the PS2. I have PS2s on my Maserati but they don't say '2' anywhere on them but they are as the '1' has not been made for a while and mine are date stamped 2009.
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.

Have read some very mixed reviews on the Yoko's so PS2/3's seem where I'm heading.

So best place to buy them anyone?

Strikes me the Pilot Sport is the tyre that Michelin is targeting for the RS6 as they have a 102 rated 20". If its for the 911, then I would guess its good for the RS6 too. The PS3 suggest "sports orientated" cars, the PS for "extreme performance", for me its the PS.

Cannot get hold of PS2's, they are on back order

I guess more likely to get PS3's when they come into production

I'm about to need a new set for mine all the way around.
Can't believe how quickly I've got through them in only 8500 miles. My merc e63 amg used to last about 14000 and I didn't drive any differently.
So what are the best for the car? I'm not impressed with the p zero's that are fitted now. They are bad for tramlining and overall don't inspire that much confidence.
I had Continental sport contact 3 on my merc and found them okay +kwik fit have got them on offer for £250 a corner at the moment.
Any advice appreciated.

I've lost a fricking tyre (front left), had to take evasive action on a slip road whilst some cretin piled across the chevrons without taking any notice of anyone else. Over a kerb, now have a bulging side wall. I have Dunlops from new, presumably SP Sport Maxx. I'd prefer not to replace all four, anyone have experience of replacing one or a pair?

And whilst I'm at it, anyone recommend a tyre fitter around Chelmsford?

Was just looking as will need to replace soon .. PS3 look to be only available up to 19 inch rims .... no 20's so I hope any one considering Michelins can get PS2's

Based on this page - http://www.michelin.co.uk/connected/tyr ... ot-sport-3

So far I can find (all fitted prices)

DUNLOP SPMAXX at 272.18 from www.merityre.co.uk

From www.blackcircles.com
Pirelli PZero 275/35 R20 Y (102) at £255.14
Pirelli PZero (Mercedes) 275/35 R20 Z (102) at £283.34
Pirelli PZero (Audi) 275/35 R20 Y (102) at £297.80
Pirelli P Zero Nero 275/35 R20 Y (102) at £297.40

Continental Sport Contact 2 275/35 R20 Y (102) at £278.65
Continental Sport Contact 2 275/35 R20 Z (102) at £283.34
Continental Sport Contact 3 275/35 R20 Y (102) at £293.99

Yokohama Advan Sport V103 275/35 R20 Y (102) at £285.13
Yokohama Advan Sport V103 275/35 R20 Z (102) at £288.43
Yokohama Advan Sport V103 275/35 R20 Y (102) (Bentley) at £304.10

Can some one explain how a Pirelli PZero (Audi) 275/35 R20 Y (102) is 42 Quid more than a Pirelli PZero 275/35 R20 Y (102)

Surely a Y rating is a Y rating (186mph / 300 kph) and a load rating of 102 is a load rating of 102 (850 Kilos) ????

Manual states that tyres on an axle should have similar tread wear / depth .. For some reason I was always of an opinion that all 4 tyres in a Quattro system should be of similar wear .. however can find no "supporting" documentation to that (probably some dealer miss info years ago to me)

So I guess its a 2 tyre change for you and hang onto the "worn but not damaged" one as a spare for the next time

Thanks matey. I suspected it might be an axle pair, but hadn't thought to check the manual. Still too peeved!

I'm coming up to 10k so I guess I'm not far from all four being required anyway, might just bite the bullet and get four.

I had a quick look on http://www.mytres.com, they have two versions of the Dunlops:
Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT 275/35 R20 102Y XL with rim protection, J at £257.40
Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT 275/35 R20 102Y XL with rim protection, RO1 at £269.30

It isn't clear what the difference is, unless one is manafacturer designated. Similar to the Pirellis, surely the tyre spec is the tyre spec!

I don't fancy the Pirellis given the feedback here and the PS2 seem like rocking horse sh!t.
