CP - No problems so far. I am thankful I was not running at a high speed, god knows what would've happened.
I wonder if there'll be a recall? Or maybe they'll quietly replace the ECGs during a normal service.

Update....
The RS6 is still in dry dock (15 days now) and the dealer is now waiting for more parts including a petrol pump ECU and technical help from both Milton Keynes and Germany...i only found this out by popping in to Harrogate Audi as nobody is bothering to keep me informed by phone!
Still on the upside life in the TTRS is fun and i love the way it goes and sounds!

CP - what a nightmare.

Is the TT a loan car or your very own go kart?

It is hard to believe that after so much talent, inspiration, effort etc to build a great car, that there doesn't appear to be anyone at Audi who monitors after sales care and who has a customer fast track hotline of some kind. It would have to be some one who is given the power to make things happen. As a company they have so much integrity but shoot themselves in the foot sometimes with lame after sales and dealing with mechanical and electrical faults.

As far as my dealer is concerned I have no complaints although a few months ago they made a big mistake over a spare part and were completely honest about it and they apologised for the oversight. I felt only respect for their candid approach. It's when a dealer is bullshitting,or, not informing me about what is going on, that is what would piss me off.

Hi James
The TTRS is a loan car...yes i think you have hit the nail on the head and so much for owning a "Halo Car" if the aftersales is not up to scratch.Even my R8 ownership was nothing special apart from a wet day out at Rockingham for an R8 drive day! These cars our bloody expensive and the the support services and aftersales need much improvement. :x

Ok CP, prepare yourself for the inevitable off-topic manouvre.........

Which do you prefer in terms of handling and performance, the R8 or the TTRS?
And in no more than 10,000 words, Why?

10,000 words...short and sweet

The R8 was more fun and planted and felt better balanced than the TTRS but the TT is more"POCKET ROCKET" than supercar!....would love this engine in my S3...Now there's an idea...RS3  Also the TTRS is in Sazuka Grey...nice colour.

Sounds like fun, maybe a good track day car.
RS3, that would also be fun.

Back together again!

Post by CP » Sun Mar 28, 2010 12:31 pm

Picked up the RS6 yesterday and all seems back to normal after the massive breakdown. It seems that the cause was an electrical fault that blew 3 ecus!
A blast up the A1 and all good...that V10 rumble, the sheer punch of it and 8 mpg!!!
Just in case she lets me down again i have an RS5 on order so RS6 you have been warned.

Further Update!

Post by CP » Sat May 01, 2010 7:19 am

The RS6 has broken down again and is entering its 4th week in dry dock!!!
This time the gearbox appears to be the problem as it stuck in limp mode and yet again it left me stranded...the fuel consumption is superb when its on the back of a low loader!
upside to this...just had 2 weeks in Antigua(2nd week courtesy of British Airways and that ash cloud) and a gleaming new S4 Avant sat on my drive whilst Durch fixes the Technic.
Bring on the RS5...PLEASE.

That's seriously bad luck CP. They should give you a replacement car. ( I saw a fairy at the bottom of my garden today).

Where did you stay in Anitgua? I was at Carlilse Bay a few years ago and loved the island.

It is a great shame to have had so many problems with a car that i had such high hopes for and that when its not sitting in my Audi dealer is probably the best of all the Audi's that i've had so far! :x
Antigua was great and we also stayed at Carlisle Bay...some place to be stuck for an extra 8 days!!!
