Must admit I'm thinking about cancelling too. I reckon you'll lose 30k as soon as its out of the showroom.

if it was a Lambo or some other lump of exotica then these losses are expected but an Audi simply isnt in this class of car because it doesnt have a history like Ferrari.
you pay 100k for the engine and the bit left over pays for the engine cover... ie.. the bodyshell.

give it a couple of years and rising fuel costs then it will probably be nearly half the expected list price for the new RS6

Sounds great (apart from the black and carbon bits)! Just kidding, good luck with the sale.

Good luck but think you'll have serious trouble getting over list.

To be fair, I think in this case it was the sudden, cold realization of doing £30k on a 2 tonne, point and squirt estate that promted the offer. However, trying to get over list is just extreme wishful thinking I'm afraid.

I did. 16K in 8 months on a new 360, but it was a 360..same on the Aston, but it's more acceptable on this type of car.....but not on an Audi Estate IMO. I'm also disappointed by the way it looks. I would not want a group M rally car look, but the RS6 is completely indistinguishable for the S6 IMO.

Dealer honesty

Post by Powderhound » Thu May 15, 2008 3:16 pm

I went to order an RS6 Avant 2 months ago as my S4 has seen sterling service but now needs to be upgraded to something bigger. I left the showroom having been talked out of it by the dealer - a mate that I have bought and sold 4 cars through now - and talked into a Q7 4.2 tdi. He told me to hang onto the saved cash and buy a secondhand one in three years as a replacement for my wife's S3.

I think we will be into an R8 tdi by then though...

Personally,

No way I'd pay full retail for this car, any daft b****r can give full price

Everthing comes to he who waits !!

There will be plenty for sale after 6 months, demos etc etc with, I reckon AT LEAST 10k off list price.
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)

I'd be interested to know how many Audi have actually sold rather than to speculators. ESpecially with a facelift and a rumoured 'Plus' version also. I don't think there are going to be many used models around for people to pick up as a bargain in a couple of years time.

I think differently.

I think the new 6 will hold its value like the B7 RS4. I think you may pick one up in 4-5 years time fo 40k. from what I hear from the dealership in Tonbridge, nearly all the ones that they have sold have been second cars, for family buses, to people who are not worried about £100+ for a tank of squirt and £400 government piggybank tax. This pisses me off, becuase I was too hoping that it would be a 30k drive off loss, then a steady 2-3 per year. Hope i am wrong......

you must be in a VERY comfortable position in life then!!

take VAT on a new 360 and that is a big chunk of readies in anyones lingo....
16k to some is peanuts, to others its another car!!

tell you what though, if your ever up here in Scotland please pm me.... wouldnt mind a ride in a Prancing Horse

77k is a piss take for an Audi estate... rather have a V10 R8 which wouldnt be much more than this?
