I came from a C6 Loon to my current F10.

Id go F10 all day long if your wanting to spend around 30k. Facelifts (63 onwards) with 50k ish on the clock from the dealers with a years warranty are available.

Get it mapped and your good for 700+ bhp. And dry weather tuned RS6 beating performance.

Personally C6 only makes sense if your only wanting to spend low 20s. Some decent examples can be found albeit with higher miles but will have had most common issuses rectified in that price range and may also have some popular mods already done.

Hopefully helps

I had a F10, it was powerful yes..., but couldn't put the power down from standstill immediately in dry or wet conditions without breaking traction. I prefer the C6, and it is much rarer on the roads than the F10.

I still miss the Rs6, launches never got boring and they are far rarer.

But after owning both, the M5 trumps the RS in most other areas

Both fantastic cars.

Only DRC problems I know of on a C6 are split hoses - usually rear ones and (IMO) it's contributed by the arch shields being a bit too close to the hoses so road grip gets trapped between them and gradually wears through the hoses. According to my local dealer's parts manager the only issue they've seen other than the coolant pies, oil seal and DRC hoses is a steering problem on one car which turned out to be a software fault (after they'd replaced two racks under warranty). Mine at close on 100K has had a hose (a year back), coolant pipes (last month after at least a year on borrowed time) and currently has the oil leak which will have to wait until I have the time to be without the car for a few days and the funds available.
And then there's the problem of the crappy plastic on the inner rear lights.

Loving it. But I do miss the Audi. Cant beat the 4wd in this <beep> weather.

BMW is much better in wet than people give it credit for. If your spending 30k, Id definitely go for an approved used BMW. Hassle free motoring for a year.

Try and test drive them both. That would be the ideal thing to do.

Good luck
