Wasn't my intention to come across that way in my post, just offering advice to check the consumable items like the brakes as they are very expensive bills to receive just after purchase :beerchug: My dealer changed pads/disks/tyres for me as part of the deal at a cost of £4K. Well, that's what they told me, I guess dealer prices would of been a lot lower than that. That will leave a very large dent in most peoples funds getting into a car like this at this stage of its life.

A 2tonne RS 6 that corners like an oil tanker is the 'rings arch enemy. It could wipe out an entire set of brakes/tyres if driven hard.

True-

See what condition of discs and pads all round are?

Also tyres?

Basic stuff I know but as said if shot you are looking at 3 large to renew!!!!

So you're decently priced 6 all of a sudden doesn't seem so reasonably priced?

I they are shot get them done as part of deal....of course easier said than done.

Apologies...3k ish not 5k...typo.

But as Andy has said at that Mileage it should have had plugs done?...another 600 quid alone!!

I also got gearbox oil changed too..audi says you don't need too...but it was piece of mind or me..another couple of hundred.

There's some great cars coming up for sale now...dropping well into late twenties?...however as ever it's the maintenance that doesn't get cheaper an good maintenance is key to these cars IMO...any non enthusiast owned cars may have been skimped on....a 40k service with plugs is near enough 1k.

It sounds good to me! I've just put down a deposit on an RS6 with 60k miles, mugello blue avant with ceramics and a few nice toys, can't wait to pick it up!

Was that the one from Slade Garage? Looked nice.
Ceramics would be lovely but scare me, I know someone with an S8 who had to get his replaced at nearly 2K per corner, he's done 140K in it though.

Thanks for the responses everyone.
The front discs definitely had a lip on them, but looked good otherwise and the tyres looked to have around 4mm left all round.
I spoke to Grizz this morning and he will be coming up this week to inspect, if all goes to plan.
If he gives it the thumbs up I should have it by the weekend!

Yep that's the one. I'm usually really hard on brakes so fingers crossed the ceramics stand up to my driving style, it was supposed to be a money saving plan in the long term, I guess I'll see who has the last laugh, me or Audi parts!

I know I know ;)

At least I'm used to the fuel consumption, my V8 disco gets about 175 - 200 miles to a tank and my average MPG over the last 1000 miles was 13.2 so I've got to be in the right ball park here at least? And the RS6 will put a smile on my face as I'm getting sub 10mpg figures unlike the Disco! :)
