Does anyone happen to know what the part number might be for that little air recirculating valve might be (Part number 9 in the above diagram) ? It looks fairly simple and has "KYS-PA6-GF30" stamped on the side of it. I can't tell if it's actually part of the whole air box assembly or if it's actually removeable or not? If I search or that part number I get lots of hits for PA6-GF30" that don't appear to be related.
I have had a hell of a time trying to track down a coolant leak. I replaced the whole coolant expansion tank and what a PITA that was. These engine bays are CRAMPED! I couldn't work out what was holding the airbox on until I removed the filter and found those 2 rubber lugs and all it needed was a good yank. Once I had that out the way, sorting out the large hose on the bottom of the coolant expansion tanks was a doddle.
Problem was, I ended up with this line with a broken bit of plastic tube on the end of it that I couldn't work out where it went. After much investigation (and further destruction of the crumbly plastic line) I worked it was a coolant line that disappears in behind the Oil reservoir and up behind the Drivers side (RH here in NZ) light into the main coolant tank. So I figure, All I need to do is to take the light out to get to the lines going to the coolant tank. How hard can that be? Well, you want to take a light out (https://youtu.be/lmqE0VhHtOs) - you first need to take the bumper off. OK... how hard can that be? https://youtu.be/MRQ4AjnCGmY - looks like VERY, if you don't have a lift, a garage or space to take both front wheels off at the same time... , ah yeah and don't forget to disconnect the Adaptive Cruise Control first - https://youtu.be/M690zD45uKQ at least that was relative easy.
Anyway, all of that led me to discover the broken recirc/diverter(?) valve on the bottom of the airbox. Can it be replaced with something similar (https://madnessautoworks.com/index.php? ... =300019127)? Or maybe repaired or something? I have the spring and plastic inner thing but the diaphragm is torn and the cover is definitely not going back on.
Thanks in advance!
