Yes, the Bentley Continental GT and Silver Spur definitely use the ZF 8HP90A74 transmission.
Both 4.0 and 6.0 engines use that gearbox, though the torque converters are different
It was used on facelift mark one models built between 2012 and 2017. Earlier cars used the 6HP26 like the RS6, and later cars use the dual clutch transmission.

So a zf8 from a bentley 4.0 would bolt on?

I have the means to get a complete kit, to proceed with a project that would involve fitment and electronics. However people here in Greece tell me they require a working 4.0 bentley with such transmission in order to connect and read the tcu and compare to the rs6 c6 to be able to make a seemless connection of the 2 gearboxes.

Unfortunately not a lot of bentleys are around in Greece to use as a read vehicle.

Anyone that could help?

The ZF 8HP90A74 plus adapter isn't EXACTLY a bolt on, but it's close. There are a couple of minor fouls on the bell housing adapter, though they really are minor. The transmission rear mounting is different and might have to be fabricated.

I'm impressed that you've got some people who are willing to take this on, though. I don't think this is something that forms part of anyone's job description.

It's intriguing that the best gearbox could be matched to the best audi engine, that's why I'm pursuing it.

Also from what I'm told as both boxes are can-bus, once they are properly 'read' then there shouldn't be much of an issue to make them work.

I am aware that the propshaft is different, however the rear diff appears externally at least similar. In Greece a complete propshaft can be built to suit, although I'm not sure that would be needed.

To a certain degree I'm willing to be the guinea-pig here so long as there is valid evidence that can be done. This then could be an alternative for an upgrade for those aiming for 1000hp.

I've been looking for other cars that have replaced the 6HP with the 8HP, and there are several instances, but they've typically used an aftermarket transmission control unit, which is disappointing.

More gratifyingly, a few highly tuned Nissan Skylines with high power, torque and max revs, use the 8HP, and the 'box seems to hold up. 1,100 HP and 9,000 RPM!

This guy did a V8 + 8HP swap into an S5, so worth watching:

I have emailed turbolamik today about this as I have reached a dead end regarding using OEM tcu. In order to check if there is a chance of getting them to work we need a working bentley car and a working rs6 to read them with odis and download all relative info. Unfortunately I don't have a bentley here in Greece and even after contacting Ricky (REperformance) via a friend I was let to believe its not an easy task to match those 2 up.
