What arch liner fixings?

Post by Doug_RS6 » Tue Sep 20, 2022 8:04 pm

Can someone confirm what the 3 fixings that go at the bottom front edge of the arch liners look like?

The ones that join the arch liner to the belly panel?

If you need some I wouldn't advise buying them from there, they're available much cheaper.

That fits on the inner two but there are more layers on the outer one so doesn't seem long enough.

It's tight but they do fit the others. It's best to fit the other ones first so that you can move the belly panel around a bit to turn the fittings.

I'll try again but it just snaps the fittings as they aren't pushed in far enough to turn and latch.

The only one I had difficulty with on my car was the right outer which had a habit of pushing the socket out of the bumper mount - refitting that was a PITA until I super-glued it in place. Prior to that I resorted to trimming the back of the arrowhead which effectively made the shaft of the fitting about 2-3mm longer. An untrimmed item won't turn. I'm pretty certain that there's an untrimmed one in place now but I can't get it out to check because it's too tight to be removed without the elbow room afforded by taking the wheel off.

I dont have belly panels, Ive threatened on multiple occasions to sort out new bottom panels and wheel arch liners but ive always postponed it as I know its going to be an expensive job, Id need a full suite and all the fixings - its never had bottom covers since Ive owned it

Even though they're fixed properly, the ones on my that run the length of the sills rattle like, er, well, things that rattle a lot. I'm tempted to pad them with some strategically placed pieces of closed-cell foam.
