Brake Upgrade Supplier
Brake Upgrade Supplier
Hi All, just an FYI for those considering bigger brakes or with brake work coming up. There's a 410mm 2 peice kit available here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154652621681 ... SwA8pgBGu9
It comes with spacers to use with stock calipers.
Replacement rings are £699 front £349 rear or £999 for both.
There's also stock size:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-RS6-C6- ... 4618014090
Also, the Phaeton brake ducts are still available from VW at about £150 for the 4 bits you need. If you are considering that, I would hurry. I have a Phaeton and it seems they are discontinuing a lot of the parts.

Can you describe what the upgrade feels like?Phuketpaul wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 7:31 amThose are the discs I put on my car, with the Phaeton ducts and Ferodo FS2500 pads the brakes are awesome
I upgraded mine a few years ago by fitting larger front discs, and it made the car feel lighter, which was a good thing. I was wondering what you thought?

Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
The brakes feel really reassuring, no matter what speed, warm or cold there is instant bite and very linear progressions as you increase the pressure on the pedal, it's difficult to describe the effect but I know at anytime I can leave braking as late as I want and still feel totally confident in the brakes.welwynnick wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 5:12 pmCan you describe what the upgrade feels like?Phuketpaul wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 7:31 amThose are the discs I put on my car, with the Phaeton ducts and Ferodo FS2500 pads the brakes are awesome

I've just put a similar setup on My aston DB9, 6 piston brembos on the front with 410 floating discs (and 4 piston rears with 380mm discs - much better weight balanced car, roughly 50:50) but I can't get the Ferodo pads for it and it doesn't feel anywhere near as confidence inspiring.

Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
The brembo calipers were always the best part of of the Audi setup, it was the god-awful design of the front discs and the pad material they chose which let the system down for anything other driving it like an A6.

Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
The work is all done and the car is currently on the ramp for an alignment (did KW springs and camber bushes). Will need to break in the pads and get the laptop on the car to bleed the ABS pump before I can comment on them though. As I'm an idiot, I activated the parking brake without one of the calipers attached and it just pushed the piston right out. Re-assembled it, bled the brakes and cleared the codes and it's happy again but I recommend you don't do that.

Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
Are they 2 piece disks? If so do you have any idea on the cost for just the disk and not the bell?
Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
When you first convert from Audi OEM you need to buy the AP hub mounts (bells). After that, you only need the AP discs
Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
Ah, so those prices exclude the bells? Just for anyone else reading.
Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
Correct - Speak to Simon or Paul at Part Box / Co-ordSport Ltd they know what ur need
Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
Nice one, thanks. I already have mine done. It's just for anyone else who may be interested.
Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
Just out on interest. Does anyone know if replacement discs for the kit mentioned in the first post are readily available? If so from where?
Re: Brake Upgrade Supplier
Authentic AP Racing 410mm discs from BG Developments (not including the hats) were about £850 per pair when I last looked (at least 3-4 years ago). This was for the standard 8 slot/groove pattern, if you wanted drilled or different patterns it'd cost extra.
There are probably cheaper options on eBay which use their own make of brake discs but you'd have to ask the various buyers if they'd sell just the disc. However I've no idea about the quality of those, could be great (using AP), could be awful (Chineseium).
