Anyone have a spare Caliper
I've upgraded my RS6 brakes to 410mm discs and Ferodo Rs2500 pads and they are awesome, very happy with them.
I've recently bought an Aston Martin DB9 and the brakes are not great, looking at upgrading to 410 discs and RS6 calipers, I have 1 spare caliper, does anyone have another spare caliper they would be interested in Selling?

Re: Anyone have a spare Caliper
The same Brembo caliper is also used on the Nissan GTR too if that helps with finding a single spare one, it'd just need a custom mounting bracket same as the RS6 ones would.

Re: Anyone have a spare Caliper
Thanks, but I've had a look and they don't seem to be quite the same, the earlier GTRs had 4 piston calipers and weren't radially mounted, the later 6 pot calipers look similar but have two clamping bolts instead of the one on the RS6 calipers, do you knbow which model GTR was supposed to have the same caliper as the RS6?

Yeap, I got it wrong, I thought they were single bolt like the RS6 calipers, sorry.Phuketpaul wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 8:16 amthe later 6 pot calipers look similar but have two clamping bolts instead of the one on the RS6 calipers

Re: Anyone have a spare Caliper
Don't know what calipers the DB has stock, but I'd check and compare the total fluid volumes of the 2 calipers, you don't want the uprated caliper to starve the system

I've already got the larger master cylinder that goes with the 6 pots, thanks

Re: Anyone have a spare Caliper
Hi-jacking this thread a little but related; I have one of the pistons seized in my O/S caliper and I am assuming since it will not budge at all either under brake pressure or trying to pry it home that its going to mean a new caliper required. My pad on that caliper is wearing at an acute angle!
Anyone have a spare they want to sell?

Re: Anyone have a spare Caliper
I couldn't find a spare caliper anywhere, so I went a different route...that means I do have a spare caliper for sale, just can't remember which side it is, will get back to you when I get home and checkATinOf wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 1:17 pmHi-jacking this thread a little but related; I have one of the pistons seized in my N/S caliper and I am assuming since it will not budge at all either under brake pressure or trying to pry it home that its going to mean a new caliper required. Re: Anyone have a spare Caliper
Hello, I have two spare calipers from my 2009 RS6

Re: Anyone have a spare Caliper
I've sorted my calipers out now thanks; all pistons seals and dust boots replaced; that stubborn piston I had to file flats on the old piston to get a 24mm spanner on it to turn it to free it off, once it turned the brake pressure pushed it out. For those that are interested the pistons are plated, and its the plating that comes off and seizes the piston in situ. Fortunately it only bruises the upper part of the piston bore above the seal, so it doesnt affect performance once the pistons are replaced.
- but its always nice to know where some backups are on the forum for future reference. Thanks
