Hi All
Those of you out there with valved exhausts, how are they controlled? I've seen some references to a window blind switch and another on boost pressure.
I like the stock exhaust but I wouldn't mind tinkering with it in the future. I would like it to be a bit more brutal at full chat but still cruise-able. I was thinking maybe a secondary cat delete and exhaust cut-outs.
My thought was a pair of cut-outs, just before the back boxes. I know space is tight, so maybe with just a couple of short turn downs to point the gas down and back. As for control, I know mechanical, boost controlled cutouts are available cheaply but my preference would be electrically controlled units that operate whenever the gear selector is in sport. Has anyone used this as a signal before?
Thanks

Re: Valved Exhaust Switch
I heard of many instances where electrically operated valves got cooked. Vacuum operated valves seem reliable, with turbo engines at least.

That's a fair point. I like the idea of having the control with an electronic one but boost operated will probably be easier to install aswell.
I imagine it also depends on where it's placed. If people are generally placing them further upstream to bypass as many components of the exhaust as possible, there will definitely be more heat up there.
