Removing door trim

Post by Pgj0hns0n » Sun Oct 01, 2017 8:47 pm

Has anyone removed the door trim on a 2008 RS6? Before anyone asks I’ve watched all the YouTube videos removing all 5 screws but I can’t pull the card off the door.

I don’t want to pull hard in case I’ve not removed a screw somewhere else.

Any tips from anyone to remove it?

The reason for removing it is to replace the lights at the bottom of the which with LEDs. The cable is too short to just swap out, hence remove the door trim!

Thanks

if you're meaning the puddle lights at the bottom, i've swapped those out on many an audi, inc the RS6 without removing the door cards, can be tricky, but there is play in the wires if your firm but gentle. Sometimes might require the new light to be sanded in places if not OEM, but always works for me without door card removal

worst case (and this has never happened to me) you end up pulling the wires to much and you need to remove the door card to fix, no worse than your current approach?

Same as pcorpe,
You should be able to do it without door card removal
