Car charging/cigarette port not working

Post by Farravi » Tue Jun 13, 2017 2:31 pm

I suspect it may be the fuse and I don't know where to find the specific fuse box as I believe there are a few dotted around the car from what I've read on it, how many amps and how do i troubleshoot this, any productive advise would be appreciated.

The lighter sockets are fed from Fuse 2 which is a 20A fuse found in the black section of Fuse Holder C (not the brown or red sections which are different Amp's anyway) which is at the end of the right side of the dash (picture below isn't a RS6 but gives you an idea where to look)

The oddity that I have is that the front console socket doesn't work but the other do. Its not a major issue as I rarely need to use it so haven't got around to investigate yet. They don't have different fuses do they?

The rear lighter uses a fuse in the boot area IIRC but I'll have a look in ELSAWIN and post up its location later tonight after work.

Well I might be a biff :D

As I was looking for the rear lighter for Jim (rear right luggage area, fuse number ST12 in the black fuse section Jim) I found that for "right hand drive cars" the front lighter fuse might actually be next to the rear lighter one (fuse ST11) so there's a nice guess of the fuse being either in the front right of the car or alternatively the rear right - 50/50 guess :D

The only 20 amp fuses I could locate was the yellow ones and there 2 but with slight different dimensions so I've ordered it and hoping it will be the solution as there's no description of what fuse is related to what on Elsawin or Ross tech
