Brakes making squeeking/ scratching noise

Hi since I've had the car when I go for a hard drive and some hard braking and they get hot they start squeeking and light scratching noises as if something is catching a bit as the Wheel goes round even when I'm off the brakes untill I give them a rest to cool a little then there fine again. I've had the car about 4 months and it had new pads fitted when I bought it. Dose anybody know whey they are like this and if I can stop it?
