Last weekend I remembered that the test was due on the RS in November, luckily it wasn't expired - 20th. Though pressure of work n' stuff has meant that I haven't been able to keep up my normal monthly once over of our vehicles I was fair certain that it'd pass although the front tyres are a bit iffy on the inside edge, so this morning I dropped it into my mates autocentre.
Pass with advisories -
Front tyres
Oil leak
Coolant pipes
Minor corrosion to both front brake lines
The only one new to me was the brake lines, the oil leak is more of a weep than a leak - Audi advised it's a timing cover a couple of months back.
As to the coolant pipes, this was pitched as "f*** me, have you seen the state of these?", so I'm now treating them as a priority.
I thought that one was 4F0121169A but unsure of the other - digging around suggests 4F0819278A but from my description Audi's parts department said 4F0121107A & 4F0121107B, which judging by the price (33 quid each) doesn't seem correct to me.
Now, I've got 3 weeks in December when I'll be using another vehicle so, do I attempt the coolant pipes myself or save my sanity by bundling the whole thing, pipes & timing cover together with a precautionary oil pump seal r&r to professionals, and if so, who?

Re: MoT Time
Hi just had my coolant pipes done last week as they we're shot along with the engine out and oil leak fixed as well (audi also said it was the timing case on mine but it turned out the be the oil pump seal)
Looking at the invoice part numbers are 4F0 121 169 -£38.07 and 4F0 819 279A - £165.22
I used Unit 20 in Liverpool and they did an excellent job at a much fairer price than my local Audi dealer did, also replacing water pump and all other seals whilst the engine is out
