Here's my post on it-cost me £480.00 all in with the Audi rings painted matt black. It looks absolutely awesome and transforms the look of the car.

Thanks mate.

I reckon the rings should stay silver personally but hey, everyone's different. Image

Completes the 'passive aggressive' look very well as demonstrated on the roads daily when everyone gets out of your way!

So the wife has always loved our BMW's and resented me for selling them (E61 535d and now our F11 520d) but the C6 has conjured up some different emotions.....she loves it and prefers it to all our previous cars. I even let her drive it yesterday and she couldn't believe how easy it was drive, she felt so comfortable driving that she pushed a little too hard into one corner and then let off half way through........, you can imagine my thoughts!!

Anyway, we decided to head out for another spin this afternoon and I booted it in 2nd, up through a couple of gears and she literally started giggling like a school girl....amazing. :biggrin3:

I LOVE THIS THING ALREADY.

Question; During cold start, I find that the car idles slightly rough and was wondering if this could be to do with the removal of the secondary cats?

On cold start what rev's is it holding?

If it's 1300rpm(ish) for about 45 seconds then you have the OEM cold start map working so it shouldn't be a rough idle so I'd look at the SAI system (Secondary Air Injection - adds the extra air during a cold start).

Or alternatively, if you have a 1-3second 1300rpm "blip" and then it drops straight back to 700rpm then the OEM cold start is mapped out and this can cause a bit of rough idle for about 1 min.

Cheers Ian.
I thought my revs were closer to 1000rpm but I could be wrong. They definitely stay high for more than 5-10 seconds but I'll have to have a proper look on my next drive.

Could it be that the car hasn't been remapped since the decat pipes were installed?

One thing you're probably realising now is the abundance of knowledge on this forum. There really are some gurus here who have ploughed a lot of time (and a <beep> load of money!!!) and energy and passion into these awesome cars. I'm mega grateful for the advice I've been given on here and car forums can really be a painful experience in black catting and egos clashing but not on here.

You're not wrong. If it wasn't for all the knowledge in this place, I would have been stuffed when I had my C5.

glad you are enjoying the car mate, the cold idling did become slightly lumpy when the decats were fitted,i put it down to needing a stage 2 map to compensate

C5 was where my RS6 lust began in the 90's however reading how high maintenance they are and can be was a big reason for me going for the C6! Fantasy vs reality (as with women!) can be a harsh lesson.

They're one of the best looking cars on the road, even now but maintenance costs are just astronomical. They're very brittle machines indeed but I'm glad I was lucky enough to own one.

The C6 is such a step forward.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I've just fired a message over to MRC to see what the damage would be. :thumb:

Stage 2 is about £1000
GB Map is £500

You should also get a "free" health check as part of the pre-remap checks (it's not actually free, they just add it into the remap costs).
