From my first post looking to my latest post having a rs6 sitting outside, all a bit funny how it came together so if you have time it's like war and peace....., originally agreed to buy the red rs6 on autotrader at the moment for 23k had a chat with the guy but the seller just strangely dissappeared and after a call he never got back to my emails or texts or calls ?? Now the cars still advertised so don't know what's happened there..anyway had to shift my a3 before the rs6 came along was a tough task however it was done and selling my car to sombody who text me out of the blue to handing over the keys in the space of 3 hours to sitting on the train home car less was a strange experience, so on the train home having a look at the classified on here about 10pm quick call to the seller and it was done I was 99% a rs6 owner. So was due to fly from scotland to luton on the 9th but had an issue... my partner was due to give birth on the 10th, cutting it fine they say, however she was quite petit so thought she would be late so wasn't really an issue. So picture tge scene all day Wednesday I'm thinking about the car and how excited I was the missus text me.... her waters just broke..noooooooo...what a mixed bag of emotions I had...so got and home she was all good and no sign of labour... ( yes I thought ) clutching on to all hope I could still fly to Luton on thursay to get the car she was even up for me doing so but in the early hours of the morning it was not to be we left the house at 7.55am and the baby was born at 8.01am on the floor of the hospital reception and me 20 seconds away feom delivering it myself might I add... :rocker: baby was fine and healthy and partner was glad it was a quick turnaround rather than those long labour's. So all being well an hour later I'm booking my flight down for Friday now ....Friday came met Alex we had great chat discussing curry in terms bank and the drive up the road happened, 30mpg also happend and so did a play with a mclaren even got the thumbs up from him made me feel I have bought a special car, have a few plans but nothing ott for example I plan on getting full red seat belts and also plan on black optics and then factory tinted glass then see how it goes, if you managed to read through thanks. If you skipped it here's the pics

Nice car there mate! Congrats on becoming a Dad as well There's something uber cool about the Avants and it was my original choice-however I went for a saloon in the end! + 1 on the black optics as it transforms the look of an already great looking car to subtle aggression, I find a lot of cars get out of the way even more now.

What's people's view on having v10 badges on the side like the s6 and the r8?

My opinion: The car doesn't need them. Doesn't need the V10 TFSI trim on the engine either - tacky.

I was intending to remove this.. but due to having the carbon engine trim i decided i wouldn't ruin the rather expensive piece.

OP - Great story, my first encounter was a little bit different.

I had at the time a Saab 9-5 Aero HOT running around 400bhp ( I won’t bore with the details of how this happened I’ll just say that my R32 GTR broke and funds allowed a silly project so the Saab happened) but it kept eating gearboxes and after number 5 I was getting a bit sick of dropping the sub frame, I literally had the turnaround of a new gearbox down to about 90mins so could rival most WRC mechanics haha!
So anyway long story short the Saab was getting long in the tooth (So I told myself) and I started looking, I mean I had just turned 25 so insurance had finally hit the point of being cheap, and my job was good etc.
So I thought screw it I’ve always wanted an RS6, I originally started looking at C5’s as I have always like the shape, but after reading the woes on gearboxes and DRC etc I quickly/wrongly got put off and decided to look into a C6 as the C7 was only into its second year of production and wayyy out of my price range.

I found a nice black Daytona grey C6 that I fell in love with it was up for 32k but it looked perfect, 40k miles 2009 model with 3G nice few options on it etc.. however the finance company wouldn’t touch the company with a barge pole said they were a “less than reputable” company which looking back made sense as a 40k car with options as that should have been up for around the 40k mark, so I went back to the drawing board, later found a lovely black C6 (so I thought) 69k 2009 was told it was 3G mmi etc so I sorted the finance and arranged the train to get me and my two friends there.
(My first mistake really was buying a car without seeing it, my second mistake was not buying from an Audi dealer and my third mistake was actually driving away in it… but you live and learn)

So I jumps in and its quite tatty inside, not spotless clean we go for a test drive and the car feels fine no issues, pulls well etc etc.. being my first I wasn’t sure what to look out for so I just said YES YES I’LL HAVE IT!
So anyway without really looking over the car I jumped in, on the way home the TPMS warning came on, I noticed that whoever had previously owned the car had really not cared about it, inside was a bit rough, mainly the rear where “the kids” had been, door speaker cover was cracked, air vents didn’t work, heated seat numbers had peeled off, boot was scruffy… but I was too hasty to buy the bloody thing, it was also a 2G mmi car which I think annoyed me the most but not knowing the difference till actually researching it I didn’t know.

Anyway… btw if your still reading your doing well!..... Fast forward a few months I’d fixed all the interior issues and again not knowing much I got a REVO map, flash forward another few months… injector failure engine removed, pants down no lube used and I parted with nearly 10k to fix it, I asked for lots of things to be done while the engine was out (oil pump seals, rear main seal etc etc) but the garage ripped me off and basically didn’t do anything that I asked and charged me for it.
Why didn’t you kick off and make a scene you ask? Well I didn’t actually find out until I sold the car….. which moves me forward onto my newer C6.

My missus was looking on trader and saw it up for £27500 it was red (the colour I wanted from day one) had less miles that the one I had currently (90k I managed to get it to from 69k) it was only on 73k
So I thought, gonna do my research.. I got in touch with Audi UK and traced all the history/warranty work.. I asked for a spec confirmation and to my astonishment it was a very highly specced C6 indeed.

Solar roof
Adaptive cruise
Passanger seat memory
3g MMi
Tinted windows
Blinds
Soft close
Phone in armrest
TV
Electric steering column
Carbon engine covers

It has also recently been to MRC for a remap and a milltek this was literally done 3 months ago, so I rang the guy asked about a trade in on my C6 and we agreed, long story short I got 23k for my old one and paid 4.5k difference.
Then about two weeks later I gets a call from the trader who is pretty angry telling me there’s a pool of oil on the floor under the car.
Lots of pictures calls to garages etc etc all basically bottomed out to the oil pump seals leaking and the rear main seal also leaking, so the garage I originally took the car too didn’t do what I asked charged me and then made me look bad to the trader.
It was a messy affair which resulted in various heated discussions which bottomed out eventually and was put to bed.

I now have a lovely Misanno red C6 that I love, I’ve since done brakes/boost pipes/wheel refurb/black optics and a few more bits to come but for the most part she’s done and im over the moon, love C6 ownership and it just proves you need to do as much research as possible before jumping the gun!

Nice reading there mate. I do still like red a solid colour suits the c6 and red makes it look newer than a 2009 car black just looks mean and when I get the optics done will give the agressive look. I'm still wandering whats happened to the seller of the red on on auto trader I pretty much agreed to take it of him his loss as it's still advertised. I never done much research when I was first contacted by a potential seller and didn't know a good thing when it was under my nose. But after a week of reading I realised I really need to bite this guy's hand off and take the car. Injectors are a big worry but they are not a common fault on the c6 are they?

No mate they arent, quite rare but something to keep your eye on.. especially if you arent going to use MRC.

Common fails are quite low.. mainly just oil pump seals and coolant pipe, oil sensor obviously other things can happen too but those are the most documented.
If your injector does go down and sticks open it'll render the block/liners destroyed due to the shear amount of fuel it'll pump in...
