MOT fail

Post by MNK » Thu Jun 09, 2016 7:05 pm

So it failed on "Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits"

Expected range 0.97-1.03, reading was 1.046

So the tech asked how often I use it... noted I do low annual mileage (and when I do drive it, it's mostly city driving), so suggested I go drive it around hard and take it back tomorrow.

I've got a Supersprint cat-back system with x-pipe (no centre exhaust)... I take it this can't make any difference on this reading? It passed last year fine with the same exhaust!

Take the MOT testers advice. Make sure the car is hot when tested and it will pass

Yep did a bit of single-digit mpg driving, took it back, passed fine! Thanks
