I think it will depend on when the warranty was taken out as they have moved to using an insurance company now.
Best to read terms in the contract.

Hope they do do it

Warranty taken out July 2015 via main dealer in Oxford from previous owner. It's up for renewal next month and my intention is to take it out again for the peace of mind (everyone on these forums sings the praises of the Audi warranty). It's the full fat comprehensive one.

It probably is the best but I never went with it on the basis of the exclusions.

There not in it to cover everyone's back, there there to make money. Hence the reason why they exclude coolant pipes.

Full warranty was about £1600 for me. I was on 58k miles 2009. It's such a large amount of money you may as well pay the repair bills.

Your warranty may be the old cover meaning it will cover more but the renewal will be the new warranty. I'd certainly get them to check it out first while you have the cover.

My opinion would be unless the pipes are leaking then they won't do a sausage anyway even if the warranty does cover them.

We're back to the whole wear and tear thing again.

One thing I will add is I purchased mine with audi warranty from the previous owner but the warranty was non transferable. It all depends on the date of purchase of the warranty. The new warranty is non transferable. It is not a real audi warranty as far as I'm concerned.

I've had my RS two months (Sept 09 59 plate with 57k miles currently) and the transfer of the warranty went through ok although I had to chase Audi for it and only confirmed I was on their system the other day when I booked the car in. Will have a look at how different the new warranty is before I sign up for another year next month.

I think the warranty on these old beasts is now not worth the money... a lot of things are not covered, be better off keeping that cash to one side just in case
