Useful info - Front brake pad compatibility

I've been looking into new front brake pads, and was disappointed with the lack of aftermarket options. I noticed that other cars seemed to share the same Brembo caliper, and wondered if any other pads would be a straight swap. Long story short, after much research the late 2011-2014 C63 AMG and the previous V8 Supercharged Range Rover Sport have exactly the same pad, including the wear sensor points as our cars, which gives us more options for pads, especially from the USA as they also have both cars over there.

I just imported a complete set of Stoptech Street Performance pads front and rear for under £150 all-in. They claim to have a wide temp range, with low dust and good bite from cold. Seemingly a good compromise for a fast road pad. I'll be running-in my new discs/pads and report back.

Just be wary of the pad thickness being different even though the rest of the dimensions are OK. The C63 and RRS pads are 8mm thinner than OEM (15.7mm vs 16.5mm) so will need replacing sooner. Some sportier pads like the Pagid RS29 8081 are 17mm so even more reason to be careful when buying.
