Has anyone else experienced an issue whereby the engine oil temperature on the DIS will read erratically?
I've recently noticed within the last few days (having had my car recently returned from Audi after being with them for a month) that, from cold, it'll appear to accurately report the temperature, between --- and 99 degrees Celsius.
However, after reaching 100 (ish) degrees C, it will start to erratically read anything between 100-165 degrees!?

When I say erratically, I mean that, literally, within 3 seconds, it will jump between 100 --> 134 --> 149 --> 161 --> 124 --> 118, when driving normally. The numbers it jumps through are obviously quite random.
This can continue for minutes.
It'll then usually hold steady at 124, sometimes normalising to between 99-118 degrees C.
Fortunately, I've not had any warning or critical lights on the dash related to the engine.
I've also checked the dipstick and it's well within the Do Not Fill section.
Outside temperatures are between 4.5-9 degrees C.
Now, in my B5 RS4, 120 degrees was at the higher end of the temperature range for the engine oil; is that the case for this engine?
What is normal operating temperature for engine oil for this engine?
Could this simply be a faulty engine oil temperature sensor?
I've not got my Vagcom cable at present, so cannot check for codes.
