Night and day

Post by leehewitt » Sat Jan 10, 2015 1:03 pm

Well gents just a quick note to report that my ride has been treated to the engine / GB map and whilst it's been mentioned before the difference really is night and day. The dyno runs where hampered due to lack of blowers and overboosting when stock. I still have to fit secondary cat bypasses in but it really is laugh out loud fast

Took mate out who owns a Dodge Challenger 6.4 srt and all he said was £@&k me through every gear change :nodder:

In summary I really need to watch my lisence now as this is particularly addictive. A big thanks to my Tuner Nasser who is a legend in these parts using techtec software and also a mention Ahmed as well, the man who has helped me no end.

Can't stop gents I'm off to fill up and hunt down some pesky CTS V's & ZL 1's :biggrin3:

I agree Andy, the power doesn't drop off until well past 7000rpm :biggrin3: Im also amazed at how linear the delivery is as well, so controllable despite massive power. Im also finding the comedy fuel gauge quite assuming!

Just avoid the average mpg display! Last time I checkd mine was 12.9!

But I wouldn't change it for the world!

What's it like under 2.5k rpm? I find standard is pretty docile. It's awesome when you are caining it above and I can't imagine it's not even better with these mods, but is it still annoying when you want to gun it from slow and it takes an age to power up.

Shinobi I assume you mean from a standing start which I have to agree with in terms of being docile, hence why the c7 has moved the goalposts on us c6 owners. I haven't checked but I reckon it pulls sooner than 2.5k but by god thereafter is surreal, and as Andy says, it's the fact that you can hang on to each gear to the GB map.

I now have to turn the TC off to avoid the electrickery holding it back between 1st and 2nd gear even though it's on new boots. :notworthy:

Is GB map really necessary ?

Surely these cars don't need to rev, alright it will show higher HP on rollers, but power under the graph cant be much benefit ?
Cant it ?

What's your views guys on driving character once done

Cheers Adam

Hi Adam,

As I have gone from stock to engine & GB map I have no comparison in terms engine mapped then GB thereafter. I would say however that putting output figures to one side, it's simply the ability to hold onto a gear for longer. This in itself gives the ability to hang with the high revving exotica out there and make further mince meat on any weight deficit

Hope this helps Lee

Thanks for reply Lee

Had my previous rs6 remapped without the GB map, it was a great map, car felt very good
I just think they seem to rev ok anyway, just my thoughts

Be good if mrc could make it so drive was no GB map and sport mode GB mapped

Cheers Adam
