Audi service or MRC

Post by Shinobi675 » Wed Dec 31, 2014 12:07 am

Hey guys,

Fairly sure I know the answer but wanted to ask anyway.

I called Audi West London earlier and booked in the c6 for a full service. Even with a 20% discount its £1,290! That seems steep!

I wanted the Audi service stamp for the boom really, even though it's a sytner. I've also got my warranty with sytner. But wow that seems high!

So do I go with the Audi service or do I go to Mrc which is much cheaper and I could probably get a gearbox oil change as well for less than the Audi full service! I also know that Mrc will do an a1 job!

Thoughts?

As I said in the other thread, I'd ask Audi what you are getting for that price. I know nothing about RS6 servicig but I know they have either made a mistake or you've got a big service coming up which includes some big ticket items like a cam belt change (i assume you have a chain rather than belt but you get my drift).

Mrc all the way. As audi will not do a gear box service!
I just had a full service at mrc including plugs, front and rear diff oils!
Gear box service. And god does it feel smooth on the gear changes now.
And new mrc race air filters
For £1600

Personally at the age of the car, I'd go MRC. If I'd still have had mine the next service was going to be MRC.

"Downside" is that you will find it more difficult trading it in at an Audi dealer as they want to see a full Audi Service history, however on teh flip side the cars are getting to an age where Audi really dont want to take them in to the approved program as trade ins in so they will just pass it straight on to a non Audi dealer - all in all a long sentence to say a trade in to Audi will be a little bit down in ££ terms

However the cars are getting to an age where more and more Forum members are picking up good forum examples and to them a MRC service stamp probably means more than a Audi stamp

Audi canceled; Mrc booked! Same price at Mrc gets me engine service, updated filters and a gearbox service!

I think you're spot on with the Mrc stamp being great in the book! Just have to remember to bring the book!

You need a full Audi history for an Audi extended warranty, plus it makes the difference between an Audi dealer retailing your car or auctioning it which could equal a lot come px time. Golf is right, Audi stamp with an oil change, indie for anything else. Audi aren't expensive for servicing, they've got a price match policy, too.
