Useful to know there are aftermarket replacement options out there once the OEM's wear out
As an alternative, If they wear out you can have Sicom refurbish them for 750 euro/disc

I like your man maths, but it's definitely a LOT more than 5k!

That's what it says on thread Golf has posted link too?

Fronts only for parts?

Of course labour to fit on top?

So what am I missing in my man maths?

When Catfood bought his Hoffman car parts were selling the discs at a very reasonable price. I don't see them on their website anymore :(
There is a brand new set of front discs on ebay.de for 4000 euros.

Did you look at the linky? Calipers and discs alone were 6.5k.

Yes of course I see now that Hoffman had discount...hence Catfood said it was just over 5k in parts for fronts.

I've been getting "the fear" about my ceramics a little recently with a bit of brake squeal in the cold when the discs are cold but this thread makes me feel much better if they ever do need replacing so many thanks for all the info.

I also read some info on carbon ceramic brake squeal on Aston's that made me feel much better too. When cycling home last night a DBS came along side me in traffic with carbon ceramics and when he braked gently in traffic it squealed like a pig, about 50 times louder than my brakes.

Now I feel totally at ease again :jump_clap:

Hate to say this but mine don't squeal when cold but then again, mine are newish.

It's only a little bit and you can only hear it with the windows down, I'm just a little paranoid. I took a wheel off at the weekend and all looked good. I've driven "up north" today in it too with a bit of spirited driving and they worked as well as the always have. I'm not worried.........yet :)

Don't worry m8 they should be perfectly fine. Maybe check your brake pads thickness just in case. I love mine and even engaged the ABS to come on stopping from xxx+ and the misses nearly went through the front screen...lol :bigblink: The shear stopping power is epic with confident when driving hard.

The reason I got a little paranoid was I had a random message pop up on the display saying "brake pads". I could quite easily see there was loads of pad left on all the outside pads but I was worried one of the inners may have been rubbing/binding for some reason and that it may have worn down and started to mess up my lovely discs out of sight. I took off the front wheels to have a look and the inner pads were exactly the same as the outers with loads of life left. I'm happy now, thanks for the help :beerchug:
