I was quoted £432 by Audi Macclesfield including filter and inspection, £252 if I supply the oil (they quoted 10 litres) What service intervals are people going for with mapped cars? Kim at MTM advised my to not go beyond 10k miles for every change, mine has done 8k miles now and tbh the oil looks / feels pretty crap which has got me twitchy enough to book in next week. I can easily believe the oil will degrade quickly if you try and stretch the intervals.

Audi gave me the wrong price AGAIN. They quoted me 159 all in for a 2lt car instead. The correct price for a oil service is 210 inclusive less the oil which I will provide. I guess that's alright.

The manual say about 8 litres but my last service, Audi only used 7 litres. I've bought 12 litres to use and for spare.

My service chap at the local dealer encouraged me to bring my own oil in as they supply castrol at £15/ltr. Also they advise on ten litres (although it should only need 8 but you get the spare given back)

The sales guys may not always be spot on but they seem better than most, but the servicing department have always been top notch at my local dealers in tonbridge.

Car booked in for the oil service after the New year but the stealer wants me to sign a disclaimer to say that I've provided my own oil just incase something goes wrong with the engine afterwards so they won't be liable for it. Is this normal practice from them?.

Thanks and you are right in regards but Matt Lewis Motorsport is a reputable company so I don't have a problem with buying oil from them.

Well the oil I bought of ebay is in the car...

Believe me it's not "any old stuff"!!!!

Not everyone's a con man?....any one who pays dealer prices for oil is a Mug or has to much money.

Sounds ridiculous, especially if you are supplying the same oil that Audi and their dealers use (Castrol Edge).

Certainly Coulsdon Audi didn't ask me to do anything like that when I supplied them the oil for mine.
