AMI IPod lead problem

My 09/08, C6 arrived this week but didn't have an IPod cable.

I picked one up at Audi dealership but I can't play my IPhone 3, 4 or IPod.

The following message is displayed;

"Your device may not be connected or working properly"

Audi assure me that the cable; 4FO 051 510K is correct for the year.

They let me try the later cable but that didn't work either.

Any ideas please

Sounds like something is funked. I don't think you'll have much option but to tip it at a dealer (can you take it back where you got it from) for them to look at.

If I can't find a reason for the problem I guess the dealer, (non Audi) might help. I hadn't considered that as a solution as it's only a niggle.

I'd be interested to hear of anyone who's had similar troubles?

Had exactly the same problem, basically you need to update the firmware on the AMI unit - this is done using the "other" lead - the USB one. Grab the file from http://www.audi.com/com/brand/en/models ... pdate.html and pop it on a USB stick then plug in - job done.
