Audi Bullshit

Post by mcfreedom » Mon Feb 07, 2011 11:00 pm

Hey guys,

I have recently noticed quite a bad waving on the discs.

Had an Audi technician out to have a look at the long list of constant problems with the car (33 warranty claims so far with a further 13 out standing).

His diagnosis is that now Audi apparently make there brake pads a harder metal compound than there discs!!

Anyone else happen to think this is complete bollocks???

Correct or not the 33 issues give you room and reason to dis believe them anyway. Sounds dodgy to me. Have you seen the comments re brakes recently will try and post the link but its a recent one.

Brake pad pins scoring the discs? We saw this on the B7 discs, Audi revised the brake pad.

33 Warranty claims..Sweet Baby Jesus. How long have you owned the car?

Had it just under 2 years now. Can't wait to get rid now. 33 warranty claims isn't even the end of it, got 13 more out standing!!

Lost the car now for 3 months in total so far having warranty work put right. I've had a none functioning boot now for the past 6 weeks. I can't even open it.

GOD NO. Will definitely not be buying another AUDI ever again. Just ordered a brand new Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Arriving in September all being well!

Can't wait to have some thing with a little more feel and communication. Some thing a little more entertaining to drive, and free my experience the Cayenne is a much better car to drive

Did you purchase the car new?

Think you should name and shame the dealership, as this is really off putting to hear.

When you get the time, and "if" you can be arsed, could you list all the problems/claims.

The NEW Cayenne is actually on it's own completely new chassis I have been told by the Porsche dealership.

That's not to say it won't make it's way to the 'NEW' Touarag in the future.

I don't want to be rude, but the are just so many issues it will take me until the end of time to write them all on here. Sorry

The problems are all mainly electrical to be honest.

3 Visits for the TV and DAB radio (still doesn't work)
2 Visits for keyless entry and go
3 Visits for the leather deforming on driver and passenger seats
3 visits for interior trim falling off or not fitting correctly
1 visit because the dealership damaged ALL 4 alloy rims replacing the tyres
6 visits to diagnose why the car vibrates at speed and under braking (still not fixed)
2 visits for the headlights (1 to replace under warranty, and 1 to actually fit the replacement properly)
1 visit to replace the adaptive cruise control unit
1 visit to replace parking sensors all round as all defective
1 visit to replace tail lights as they stopped working completely
1 visit to replace rear parcel shelf as it stopped retracting
1 visit to replace brakes at the front and the both cracked quite badly
1 visit for the gearbox unit to be replacement, not sure why to be honest.
1 visit to re-paint the tailgate as when the dealership put the private plate on the car for me the damaged all the paint work really badly and then covered it up with the number plate and when I put a different plate on the car I noticed it immediately

Thats about all I can remember at the moment. If I think of anymore I'll add them in.

Feel for you there, McFreedom. But as others have said, this is a lemon car rather than indicative of the brand.

As some of the problems are just down to the dealer, can you confirm with dealership it is?
