Looks like I'll be leaving then.

I went into Mercedes at York yesterday and ended up ordering a new E63 Amg estate.
I'm not sure exactly why, but I've never quite gelled with my Rs6.
It's a fabulous car but somehow just feels a bit numb like it's got no personality. If I could liken it to a human being it would be a robot where'as the old shape E63 that I had was Ozzy Osbourne.
I think it just does everything too well which sounds stupid I know, but for me it just takes something away from the pleasure of driving a fast car.

If your'e interested, I got £50,000 in part exchange for my year old baby (8700 miles on the clock), and that's for the deal when I pick up the new one in three months.
I also managed to wangle a 5.5% discount on the merc as well, so overall I think I've managed a reasonable deal.
In the meantime I'll be selling the Miltech exhaust if anyones interested.

It's been a good fun experience owning the Rs6, but I guess I'm just an Amg guy at heart
Don't get me wrong, it's a great car and I'm not slagging off the Rs6, or trying to start a flame war, it's just not for me.
This next three months is going to drag like hell now!

I understand your point which I why I sold my C6 after 6 months.

Mercedes UK & a dealer failed to get an E63 for me to test drive on numerous enquiries, so I ended up ordering
the new Cayenne Turbo which is being delivered at the end of July.

Just one thing,
As part of the deal I have to get my car serviced. I've not got a service book that can be stamped so I'm assuming it goes onto a computer database when you get it serviced ay the main stealer. I'd prefer to get it done at an independant Audi specialist to save costs.
How do I go about getting a service book for it?

Good luck Holmax
Sorry the car didn't work out for you. I think it is the kind of car that you either like or dislike. I continue to love mine.

I think dislike is probably too stong a word for it alpha, it just didn't quite 'float ma boat' and I don't even know why!
Glad you like yours though mate, it really is a fantastic car.

The C63 is a fantastic car, I had a driver trg day in one on the track, car is outrageous, its a bit of a handful in the wet, so I can not imagine what it would be like in the snow.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

sorry to hear that someone is leaving the fold, however i can appreciate that the RS6 can leave some a little cold. i think if it was my only car i might be slightly less keen, because ultimately it doesn't excite as much as a lairy sideways E63 or M5 will. however i need a car that is 'fit for purpose' come rain or shine, or snow (i live in a rural location) and i need a car which the wife is happy to drive (that also rules out hopeless SMG gearbox) when her LR is 'otherwise engaged'. also i am lucky enough to have a couple of other more focused track and fast road cars that engage on the more visceral level. all of which means i have traded my early '08 avant for one of the last '10 avant's to ensure many more years of big super estate car quattro use. have to say the E63 looks mental though, would be a massive laugh 95 pcnt of the time - u should debadge it or stick some 250 cdi badges on the bootlid....

Agreed, if it were the only car then...no. Otherwise, cold but very stealthy and classy imo. There remains no other option in the bracket...I would need a balaclava to drive a Cayenne....hideous

if you are as much as a shy retiring snob as me, the RS 6 (debadged) is the only option frankly - anything else has the whiff of footballing chav about it and thus is totally unacceptable. i would imagine once Audi descends into this hole, which clearly is only a matter of time, i will have no option but to buy a Bristol !

A Bristol? What on earth would you want with a double decker bus?

The Bristol.....the ultimate in cool. Very expensive, ugly and thirsty yet something about them. Super cool, in a way that AMG/Cayenne/Private Plate man would never quite understand....excellent.
My other choice would be a Defender.....V8.

sadly mr silverton is more of a business man that mr crook - he wouldn't let someone in the dealership, never mind sell a car, to someone who did not meet his lofty criteria....proper chaps only !
